I agree. I'd also ask why Whyte who has been WBC number 1 ranked contender for a fair while now sjould have to do the same to geg his shot.

Let's be consistent here. I'd be relatively happy with Joshua Povetkin/Wilder Whyte next.

Hopefully Parker can get himself in the mix too.

Whyte just wants some money , hes not that dumb but will get badly hurt soon. Also Miller is incident waiting to happen just like Browne , big slow guy with no defense-dont want to see him sparked badly out really.

Between the two of them Sasha and Whyte hold #1 position in three of the four organisaions rankings. Perhaps Eddie is hoping he can sweet talk the presidents into have a shared "mega-mandatory" against the winner and effectively kill three birds with one stone.

FWIW, I think even this faded Povetkin handles Whyte comfortably to a late TKO or wide UD. They're both there to be hit but Povetkin chooses his shots better and hits harder.

Even today's Povetkin is good enough to beat Whyte who has as bad balance and footwork as possible.

But Whyte is tough and big guy who is in his prime now so he can give trouble to an ageing Povetkin.

Povetkin vs. Whyte would be the ideal fight to add to a Wilder-Joshua event.

I'm sure a prime version of Povetkin would beat Whyte, but the Russian is getting old so now it's closer to a 50-50 fight.

Povetkin vs Whyte would be a good fight.

I'd rather see Whyte vs Wilder and Joshua vs Povetkin but there's no chance of that.
