im just saying it seems like anybody who can put together any kind of decent win streak can get a lofty rank like Boz has been winning fights for yrs yet a guy like Rahman will hang in the ranks for yrs or James Toney will get unlimited shots nice to see a different guy in the mix like Boz but its a shame this guy has to be randomly selected as an opponent for his chance rather than be recognized enough to have earned it i mean plenty of guys just handed shots
I'm just glad Bos is finally getting a shot. I'm looking forward to this one- Povetkin by points seems the most likely outcome, but on any given night...
Trust me, Boz is worthy. Worthier than a lot of contenders of late. This title shot is one of boxing's feel good stories of the year, and if it goes his way... Total Cinderella Man ****. You'll see, if and when a poll goes up a lot of knowledgeable posters will go out on a limb and pick the upset (and they'll only slightly be taking a leap of faith). Povetkin will and should be the betting favorite, but this is no soft touch defense whatsoever...and if Atlas & co. think it is they're in for a rude awakening and the rest of us are in for a real treat.
i hope so because outside of Chagaev Povetkin has been supremely protected i mean what happened he came up tough fighting Friday A, Byrd, Donald, Chambers and didnt he also fight Bostice or am i wrong then when he got hurt and picked up Atlas he fought bums and i think he got worse i hope this is a real test and if Povetkin wins he better fight Wlad
The Boz is a VERY well rounded fighter, but he excels no particular category. Actually his style is very similar to Potvetkin himself. He likes to fight in close, but does well with the jab on the outside. Call him a HW Glen Johnson if you will. While I think he has enough power to at least keep Potvetkin honest, I don't think he'll have enough to stave off a later round flurry in which a hometown ref can call a premature stoppage. Sadly, I think Sasha's getting a gift TKO, even without a KD or a seriously hurt Boz.....that's just the way I see it.:-( However, being that Boz power is above average and Povetkin may take him lighty(IDK), Sasha may look to try to score an early KO, and Boz is a better than average CPer, and could put Sasha on his ass. Of course, should he get up, get his legs under him and make the next round, the hometown ref will look to gift Sasha a TKO on the very first unanswered flurry in the following rounds.:-( Then again......we can't have a 41 y/o #1 contender now can we.:think
Im not a big Povetkin fan but Boswell is not the guy to beat Povetkin if you think so your a real good dreamer....Povetkin by wide UD and will look good doing it.
There will be most likely near 10 000 drunkend Finnish fan. Guess who they are coming to see. I would have never guess how big such a puny looking guy like Robert Helenius could become in our country. Glad boxing at Scandinavia are starting to rise again. Of course in Denmark it has been at good state quite while.:good But to the topic Main event of the evening Povetkin vs Boswell aint bad Fight either. Actually povetkin is pretty exciting Fighter and is against Guy who is pretty big dude and can punch. This is Great.
Povetkin is a gonna win. He has too much of an advantage being trained by Teddy Atlas, , winning an Olympic Gold medal being the WBA Heavyweight Champion of the World. Povetkin probably has lots of sports cars, an epic mansion and is bangin a lot of hoes.
^^ Ok I can remember Roman Greenberg he was a British Jewish HW. He was brutally knocked out by Boswell but he was never that good. He steped up in comp one time and consequensely was KTFO Povetkin is at least 10 times better than Roman.
Hasty stoppage. Greenberg was just taking a nap in the ropes because Boswell´s shots were like feathers soothing his jaw. Povetkin wide UD.
Without re-watching a load of recent Povetkin fights, which I really don't want to do, I'm going to go on the relatively little information that I have and guess Boswell speaks a decision (if the judges behave).
