Only reason I didn't include him was because he wasn't a 'title holder'. How do you see that one going?

    Povetkin vs Mavrovic?
Damn, that's a hard one. Both guys tough as nails. In my eyes It goes 12 rounds, total slug fest. It could go either way. Maybe slight Advantage to Povetkin because of his work rate.

Honestly, he probably would have lost if he had faced Vitali Klitschko or Haye or Fury.

Yeah and the world championship he won also? Or are you gonna try to downplay that too. Lol Povetkin has always been a damn good fighter and arguably one of the best Russian amateurs of the last 30 years. Was he ever in the same league as Wladimir or Vitali as far as talent? No. But he is a very solid boxer. But I do think Ibragimov at his best (Last 4 fights) very well could have beat Povetkin.

Not arguing that! Lol Well at least the Vitali part. Fury and Haye I’m not sure. But hopefully we can find out this year  Povetkin vs Haye would be explosive.

Current Povetkin beats current Haye. All Haye's boxing power was based on speed and reflexes, and when it's gone, he looks very ordinary even in the first 5 rds vs Bellew

I hope we still get to see Haye vs Fury or Povetkin. Those would be fun fights.

He should be favoured against all of them.

I see people making a case for Ibragimov, and while Iggy was a quality fighter, Povetkin would have gutted out a close but clear-cut win over him. An ancient Evander had his moments with Iggy, as did guys like Austin. I don't see him doing enough to beat Povetkin. He'll have his moments, much like Chambers did, but he'd ultimately get outworked down the stretch.

A better question would be why didn't Povetkin fight any of these men.

    What's your point?

That Savon is a harder opponent than a walk over or that Povetkin didn't deserve his gold medal?

My point is a lot of guys would be gold medalists if their opponent didn't show up. Ibragimov's opponent not only showed up he was one of the best ever. I have more respect for a guy who fought the best and came in second than someone who won by default.

Liakovich seems to get more respect in this thread than Valuev and Nicolay shut him out.

No, just as many would be gold medalists even if their opponents didn't show up.

You can't do more than beat what's in front of you, and you don't choose your opponent. Povetkin for example beat Cammarelle in the semi, an opponent well worthy of a final.
