Assuming the fight happens, I am not counting Evander out. I thought he beat Valuev more convincingly than Haye (who didn't do enough to win).

Evander may be aging and a little mushy between in-between the ears, but he's a machine who keeps coming forward, has tremendous experience and he's always in good condition.

I don't know that it will be a fun fight to watch, but I don't think it will be a shutout or a KO.

Factoid: Povetkin just turned 6yrs old when Evander made his pro debut. :patsch

How do you see it playing out?

Holyfield has 0 chance of winning, Povetkin will win a wide decision, similar to the Ibragimov fight.

Povetkin beats Ancient Fossil Holyfield by wide UD, with scores like 116-112.

Holy won't make it to the end... can't believe some guys here actually believe he will win.
How long ago is it that Holyfield actually clearly beat a top 50 heavyweight? He's been on the senior tour for a while now.

I hope he can win this and then retire, become the only 5 time heavyweight champ etc etc.

But I cant see this happening.

    December 2008 vs. Valuev

I watched the fight expecting nothing special and was surprised that Holy actually won the majority of the rounds but was robbed in the decision.

Pretty sure the reason he's not getting any big fights is because nobody wants to risk a humiliating loss to him, and while he's not a giant threat...he's certainly durable and capable of beating some ass if given the chance.

That's what this actually is all about... Holy losing 3 years ago against a bogus champ, while he shouldn't have been in there in the first place.
And now we have him fighting again (at 49!!!) having only beaten a couple of old men and got away with a NC against "Tank" Williams. Against a better boxer, for a bogus belt and some actually believe he will win it?!? :blood

I guess I don't have a problem with it because he already won the belt but was robbed of it at that time.

So, its his second chance to get something he already won fair and square.

    6 wrongs don't make a right. :nono
    1. Holy shouldn't have been in there fighting for a "major" belt at 46 after losing clearly.
    2. Holy shouldn't have been able to win more rounds as "the champ" at 46.
    3. Holy shouldn't have been robbed of a decision in that fight.
    4. Holy shouldn't be able to fight for a belt by only beating washed up has beens like himself.
    5. There shouldn't be a WBA belt in circulation other than Wlad's belt.
    6. Holy shouldn't be able to beat a young champion, even if he has a bogus belt (thus cheating history).

Decision, I don't think any fighter today would want to knockout Holyfield.

Holy says he wants a rematch with Botha (?) and then Povetkin. And by then he will be 50. He looses a wide, one sided UD.

Did you see the Botha fight ( he lost most of that fight until the KO ) He looked good against a washed up overweight, Brian nielsen who hadn't fought in 9 years! Povetkin would destroy the White Bufflo " Botha. Holyfield barley bet Valuev who lost to Chageav who lost to Povetkin,
