Povetkin should retire..the man is sick, he has been using Heart medicin for years....Thats not good for a pro sportsman..We cant have him dropping dead in the ring...Against Joshua, he would be creamed inside 7 rounds.

Povitkin would get destroyed early .I can't believe the love for this guy on this forum.Huck went life and death with him thats the easy to hit brawler cruiser weight. If Povitkin can't stop him what chance does he have with Joshua or Ortiz for that matter.Hope the fight happens .

    Clueless idiot.
The amount of hate on here for AJ is ridiculous. He might not be an ATG but he's fit, young, dedicated and building a great career. He'll fight anyone who'll take him on. The division is full of fat, unmotivated nobodies with a joke belt holder like Wilder.
Some absolute mongs on this forum.

Joshua stops Povetkin. Wilder stops Povetkin. Ortiz stops Povetkin. Haye beats Povetkin. When Fury comes back, he beats Povetkin. Wlad beats Povetkin. Browne beats Povetkin. By next year, Parker beats Povetkin. Hell, Stiverne may beat Povetkin. Duhaupas would probably beat Povetkin.

Povetkin's was never great, and he's certainly not now that he's approaching 40 and coming off his pills.

In reality, Povetkin's barely top 10.

If not for the WBC rating, nobody would even be talking about him anymore. He never really had "a time," but his "time" has passed.

At this point, he's just another random ABC "mandatory" standing in the way of better fights. Nothing more.

Povetkin would be the favorite but Joshua has the tools to beat him.

As just another random ABC mandatory standing in the way of better fights, he'll ironically have more victories over opponents that are highly ranked by the the said ABC than the champion of it if he beats Stiverne.

No he doesn't. And no he won't.

Among the current top heavyweights, he hasn't beaten anyone.

Fury, Wilder, Joshua, Haye, Ortiz, Browne, Parker, Wlad, Pulev, Ustinov, Stiverne, Duhaupas, Molina, Szpilka, Jennings, Teper, Washington, Chisora, Miller, Ruiz, Glazkov, White, Breazeale, Hughie Fury, Gerber, and on and on.

The days of beating Chris Byrd and Eddie Chambers are long gone.

Stupidest list of HWs ever. Just exclude everyone who were beaten by a certain fighter you dislike. Ruiz, Glazkov, Teper, Whyte, Gerber are top HWs but Takam isn't? Get a grip fanboy.

And yes he will. I said the ABC rankings, the WBC. Each one of Povetkin's last 4 opponents were rated in top10 by WBC, will be 5 if he beats Stiverne. And 3 of them were top5 again per WBC. Each one of Wilder's title defences were at the bottom of the rankings bar Szpilka.

I didn't pick guys someone beat. I picked the current rated heavyweights.

In the current WBC top 10, Povetkin has wins over no one. Wilder has wins over four of the current top 10 (nearly half).

Povetkin hasn't beaten anyone in the WBO top 15. Povetkin has one win over someone in the IBF top 15 (Takam). He was one win over someone in the WBA top 15 ... only because they RIDICULOUSLY rate Manuel Charr (for some reason, but their ratings are notoriously bad.)

In the current heavyweight scene, Povetkin hasn't beaten anyone. He's fringe top 10 at best. I could name 10 guys I'd favor over him. He's no top contender, certainly not NUMBER ONE.

He's another ABC mandatory. Nobody else even rates him.

Mike Perez isn't even fighting anymore. And he never beat a ranked fighter, either. And Takam's big wins came over guys closer to 50 than 30. (Botha. Michael Grant.) Takam never beat a name fighter in his 30s, let alone his 20s.
