The clinches in the first fight occured after one of two things. Povetin missing a lunging punch and smothering himself. Wlad landing a power punch as Povetkin lunges in.
But Povetkin can also land more shot of his own and work inside if he's not being fouled to death. If Wlad was so confident then why didn't he just let his hands go instead of clinching in the first place? Povetkin is pretty limited skill wise, plus shorter and lighter, yet Wlad was terrified to have a fair fight, the ref was also clearly paid off. Disgusting.
Wlad gets KO'd Even featherfisted Jennings made him look average when he wasn't allowed to hold ha ha
If Wlad fights the same way then any fair ref would DQ him by the 4th for his disgusting fouling and sickening attempts to cause Povetkin serious brain and spinal injury with his head locks and elbows.
So John Ruiz was never DQed and he held and clinched a lot more than Wlad but you expect Wlad to be DQed? :huh Also look at Hopkins all he does is hold, clinch, and foul yet he hasn't been DQed either. Not sure I understand your logic.
Ruiz was also a cheating POS scumbag who relied on illegal moves and corrupt officials. Hopkins didn't foul that much when he was younger, he's done it more since getting old, but even then, it's nowhere near as bad as what Wlad does. Plus why do you have such a hard on for a glass jawed fighter like Wlad? There are fighters with far better chins you sh*t on for packing glass.
Look... Wlad hurt Povetkin in the fight, not once or twice but quite a few times. Povetkin was all but dead. His soul was gone. But if Wlad holds less and throws more somehow this time Povetkin will be able to not only take his shots better, but also get inside and land his own?
Look at what happened when he lost a point vs Jennings and cut out the holding, he won every round after that throwing more punches and with power and controlled the fight People act like Wlad only won with clinching, Povetkin wasn't a battered fighter after 12 rounds of clinching. Povetkin barely made it to the final bell and it really looked like Wlad carried him to the finish line I think if the ref gets on Wlads case for clinching its a shorter night for Povetkin
Well it looks like Povetkin is also now on the same the good stuff as Wlad which has clearly made him faster and stronger. Wlad was scared of a fair fight against a slow, podgy Povetkin and needed the ref in his pocket, so a fair ref with both men on the same level of PED's makes it more interesting.
:rofl The point was taken in the 10th round after he was warned throughout the entire fight. Even when holding back on the clinching , he still lost a point as he cannot go through a fight without it. All he beat Jennings with was a jab. That was it. Every round was razor close. The 1 or 2 right hand he threw barely nicked the rounds he won. Jennings was a pudding fisted amateur so Wlad got away with just using his jab to win the fight. Anybody who thinks he can beat Povetkin that way simply dksab.
That's odd, as I have it on good authority anyone who doesn't think he can beat Povetkin that way dksab
