I was thinking about this match up earlier today. I think Ortiz hits harder and is clearly the bigger man and has better counter punching skills, but Povetkin is more proven and hits pretty hard himself. But I think Ortiz has the tools to deal with Povetkin, the uppercut that worked so well against Jennings will find it's target with Povetkin as well.
Hell of a matchup. Depends on the strength of Ortiz's relatively untested chin. Ortiz is best when he can counter punch and Povetkin isn't terribly hard to hit. I'll non- confidently take Ortiz.
Povetkin in a Takam esq fight. AP has fought and beaten better southpaws in Byrd and Chagaev than Ortiz, who I believe is still unproven and the new Ibeabuchi in the realms of mythical fighting g prowess. Overall I believe Povetkin can match and better Ortiz in every Department.
Ortiz has a decent chin I reckon but he has stamina issues and if Povetkin can drag him in to deep water and drown him late
