He was roughly about 30lbs lighter back then.

Interestingly Povetkin and Ortiz are the same age at 36.

That's Povernov. There's also video of Roman Romanchuk beating Ortiz at the World Cup.

It is Alexander Pov and Alexander Pov beat Ortiz in the amateurs. :deal

And so what if he's bald it doesn't make him any less of a person or indeed less of a fighter either.

Yes that was a good little fight, one of the highest scoring amateur contests I can recall seeing. Romanchuk was a real talent (RIP)

Ortiz is alot more mobile at 91kg. But I assume the extra 30-35 lb also includes muscle for punching power. The pro game is better for sluggers than the amateur game.

People are getting too waxed about this roid pumped monster, he's lucky Jennings gave him the fight. I feel sorry for Bryant, no doubt in my mind he's a clean athlete unlike his opponent. There should be a code of compulsory independent testing for all hw boxers and you cannot compete unless signed. I would say orgs like the bbboc or NSAC could refuse to sanction any pro fighter or bout not signed up. The cost should be a fixed deductable from all fights, a percentage for bigger bouts so it stays funded. Too much shenanigans and a positive for a steroid like Nandrolone should be a life ban.

Speaking honestly, almost nobody mentioned Ortiz on this forum a month ago, he was a half-anonymous. Obviously, he is a great puncher, chin and stamina are still questionable. He defeated only one top ten HW, unfortunately he is 36, and he has to do everything he can until 2018. I'm not sure if he is on Povetkin's level, and I would like to see this match. And, dude looks like hitman, after boxing he could be an actor in Tarantino's movies.

He's still very light on his feet and mobile for his size. Tyson Fury is the only other current SHW I can think of who is as well.

    Ortiz by Knockout

The reason is the fight with an agressive Marco Huck who has almost
managed to beat Povetkin by Knockout and Ortiz punches way harder
    than Huck including featherfist Klitschko.
