Yes I expect Povetkin to win this fight. More skilled and has fought better competition.

Stiverne is a lazy walrus with boxing gloves on. This fight will be utterly one sided and the only thing that makes it remotely interesting is to see if Povetkin can knock Stiverne out. I doubt he can be in any worse of a shape than he was in the Wilder bout, but who knows.

So with Wilder supposedly out until next year, I guess this makes sense, the previous champion vs the mandatory.

Stiverne will be dangerous as he won't have to look for Povetkin and can sit back and counter but his recent form has been atrocious. Povetkin likely grinds him down and stops him.

I thought Stiverne was in talks to face Joshua, but I guess with a 50/50 split this fight makes more sense for Stiverne. Joshua will likely face Pulev then, which is another good fight.

    Povetkin, and pretty easily too.
Stiverne has 2 decent wins (Arreola x2) and not much else. He made an ancient Ray Austin look like prime Larry Holmes until he finally caught up with him, and recently needed a gift against Rossy to boot.

He got overrated by a mile after beating Arreola in the first bout.

Stiverne will have a puncher's chance. Povetkin is more complete boxer, and Stiverne is rusty and over his prime, but I would never bet on the winner of this match.

Both are rusty and a similar size stivern has a bigger punch pov is a better boxer.if stivern comes in good shape then he could do it pov is not hard to hit .if stivern comes in poor shape expect pov to win a decision but don't be surprised if stivern drops him.

Since Stivern is a guy who gets stopped by Demetrice King and dropped by rossy, I am guessing Povetkin steamroles him as soon as he wakes up from his usual slow start.

To be honest, this was one of the worst stoppages ever, check it on Youtube.

But Sasha will win this if comes in his usual shape.

Jesus Christ. The WBC screws up again.

Wilder will be back in January. THAT'S FIVE MONTHS FROM NOW. (Fury's been out a whole year because he's lazy and then he twisted his ankle, but you can't give Wilder six months to recover from TWO surgeries?)

Now they're going to stage an "interim" title fight that won't happen until October or November just so they can collect a sanctioning fee this fall?

And if Povetkin wins, he'll need another six or eight months to recover - like he did after Wach (longer than Wilder needs to recover from operations). Why not just schedule the Wilder-Povetkin fight for January and be done with it?

Why stage an interim fight two months before that?

I am so sick of Povetkin.

He gets an Olympic gold medal in a walkover when the guy doesn't show up. He wins a vacant WBA belt after skipping out on two purse bids with Wlad. He delays a fight with Wilder forever because he either wasn't ready or he needed tuneups or he had illegal drugs in his system. And now he gets to fight for yet another vacant belt.

He's gotten more gifts by the WBC than Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Is Povetkin one of Chavez Sr.'s illegitimate kids or something?

I'll take Stiverne by KO. Povetkin's going to come in looking like he did against Huck (now that he doesn't have his meds). But Stiverne hits hard enough to take him out.
