The Povetkin fight will never add to Wlads legacy.

That fight was one of the worst displays of sportsmanship in the history of the boxing.

That fight tarnished his legacy far more then it improved it.

Are you able to show us these 3 knock downs because only one was a legit kd.

I predicted that Povetkin would get the better of Takam in the exchanges and favored with to win a decision or a possible late stoppage. It eventually happened but the fight didn't exactly go as I thought to be honest. Here is my quick review:

Povetkin started slowly and didn't really commit during the early rounds, he was probably reserved due to Takam's reputation of a highly active pressure fighter with an iron chin. Takam obviously took advantage of Povetkin's tactics and although there wasn't much action during the first 4 rounds, Takam was ahead on the cards and even managed to catch Povetkin with some pretty good shots.

After the scorecards were announced (judges had Takam ahead obviously), Povetkin seemed to be starting to bring the action to Takam and started to initiate exchanges instead of just being reserved expecting Takam to come forward. Both boxers were exchanging some good blows and the fight got a lot closer. Then Takam caught Povetkin with a really hard punch right on the chin and it looked like Povetkin might be in trouble. However, Sasha showed the champion mentality and determination. He actually recovered almost immediately and responded with hard punches and combinations of his own.

After the 8th round, Povetkin was narrowly ahead but it became more clear that Sasha was taking over the fight. He was tagging Takam more and more often, and eventually knocked him down. It the 10th round Povetkin finally broke the opponent with a hard, precise combination that ended with a hard blow on the chin (Sasha's signature actually) which knocked Takam out.

It was a really good fight, Povetkin showed a strong mentality and overcame the early difficulties to score another impressive knockout.

I must say that Povetkin's timing wasn't good, especially early on. Later during the mid-rounds he got it right but there were signs of him not being in his prime anymore (although he is still overall very good). Anyway, he won this fight due to skills, but also due to his heart, will and determination.

As for Takam, I have to say that he is better than I expected. He showed the ability to completely switch the gameplan and make it work. Many thought that he was just a come-forward brawler who mainly relies on his chin, but he also demonstrated that he is able to keep the distance when required (which perhaps somewhat confused Povetkin as well), and it was working early on.

Once again, it was a quality fight with a lot of action just as most of us were expecting. At the end, Povetkin adds another KO victory on his resume.

Povetkin is the type of fighter who needs to stay active in the gym. Sometimes he could look great as he did in the Charr fight. Other times he's not as sharp.
But he always has good heart and will

Heavyweights can have great fights as long as the Klitschko's aren't in them as they are too big, strong, skilled and smart for the smaller 6'2" 230 pound fighters to beat baring a lottery type of punch or injury.

Pulev is very intelligent, it would be a pretty hard fight for Povetkin to win. However, Pulev doesn't hold nearly as much as Wladimir and he often relies on his reflexes to evade punches so there might be Povetkin's chance to do his thing.
