Povetkin was getting battered right up until that lucky shot....should he retire or take a cash out

    Lucky punch?

He had been throwing left hooks all night at Whyte and this time he decided to throw a jab and instead of a hook came up with a huge uppercut. It was a planned uppercut and not some wild swing.

To me this was a beautiful anticipation from Povetkin of Whyte being open for an uppercut and not a lucky punch.

    Keep hearing this nonsense

'Whyte had dominated much of the first four rounds and had Povetkin down twice before the Russian sent the Brit crashing to the canvas with a powerful uppercut in the fifth round'

That's not what happened though. The only domination I saw was in round 4 and I had Povetkin up after 3.

And anyone who thinks that punch was a ''lucky shot'' literally DKSAB

 It has been scientifically proven that liars live on average 10-15 years longer than honest people. That's just one of the reasons I lie like a rug. The simple truth is there are few things that are as good for your mind, body, spirit and soul than good old-fashioned lying.

I hope that’s true lol, wow 15 yrs eh...Imagine how many lies you could tell in the extra 10-15 yrs. I love telling lies at funerals to old people in my family, I’ve made up some whoppers, tbf it’s more old people that know my family more than direct family. There’s one that makes a beeline for me now, well in to her 80’s, she can’t get enough, she tells lies too i can tell

The strange thing about this fight was Whyte was being content letting Povetkin get off first, even though he was faster and with a longer reach

It was very clear to me Whyte was banking on letting Povetkin blow his load hoping to tire the older, slower foe, and then come on top after rd 6 or so.

I guess he was still weary of that power in the early rds.

How can anyone score the first 3 rds for Whyte is a mystery to me.

 That's 10-15 years minimum. Yeah lying to family members is a blast, it's not quite as much fun as lying to children, particularly if you renege on a promise to them about something they were really looking forward to, but it's still immensely satisfying.

I stick strictly with the old dears, believe it or not I’ve found them more gullible, they’ll swallow anything, then not believe something straight forward and simple, especially the old Irish, it’s great. I had to swerve one wedding as my mother asked me what I’d said to Auntie Kate, it had come on top, I’d told her a cousin was having an affair, which he wasn’t but then as it turned out he was lol..I was at the next family do regular as clock work “ you were right Sanil, the only one that called it”

It's good but it's not good enough

    Stipe Miocic

He's a former Golden Gloves boxing champion and MMA fighters kick and box and if a fighter kicks and boxes then technically they're kickboxers :D

Povetkin has definitely lost a step, which is normal at 41 years old.
But he got up in the 4th round and that uppercut in the 5th round was a beauty - perfectly set up and timed - it won him the fight, and proves he's still a top contender. No way that was a lucky punch!
I believe Povetkin has a good shot to beat Whyte again in a rematch, and to beat any other HW not named AJ or Tyson Fury for that matter.
Personally I would like to see him in against Usyk. Usyk should be a favourite here, but my guess is that the fight would be competitive and really a true test for Usyk.

 Yeah the old dears are gullible as hell and they'll believe any yarn you spin. Lying to old people is probably one of my favourite things to do.
