Not really, Whyte was winning and the KO was really sudden after Pov had been knocked down twice. How exactly is a rematch ludicrous?

"winning"? The guy got savagely KOed. It was as conclusive as it gets.

What does him getting ko'd have to do with him winning on the cards (with two KD's) before? We all know he lost by KO.

Whyte should be ecstatic instead of frustrated. Such a quick turnaround after getting flatlined like he did would’ve seen him brutally KO’d again and his career totally derailed.

James Ali Bashir says that Povetkin is one of the ''best people he's ever met''

A few months ago E-Hearn made a point of saying that Povetkin and his promoter Andrey Ryabinsky are some of the best and most honourable people he's ever worked with and that if they say they're going to do something you can be sure they'll stick to it

Oh shut up. I love the guy.

Ask yourself, genius, would I really be saying I wanted him to stick around if I was a hater?

The WBA "regular" belt is a fraud. Truth is, if the bridgerweight title sticks, he could have a legacy as the first one.

I was just having a laugh.

We are talking about the BBBofC, who are rotten to the core, so I suppose anything could happen as far as they are concerned.

Glad to see the support Pov is getting here. I, too, would rather see him retire. Maybe 1-2 farewell fights back in Russia, and only if he recovers fully and quickly.

In his late 30s to near 41 he's been a road warrior in recent years. Only defeated by the great Wlad and a much younger AJ - both much bigger. A modest sized HW in his era, he's had a superlative career. I've taken up for Whyte at times, but he's acting like a jackass disrespecting Alexander.

He’s always come across as a class act. You won’t hear any fighters or trainers bad mouth him. Only one is Wilder but he’s a loon so he doesn’t count.

Watch Whyte & hearn try and set up a fight against some bum and try to leverage it as some sort of eliminator for the mandatory to the WBC belt.

    Agreed.

Those two losses are the only losses he's incurred in 171 fights amateur and pro combined he hasn't avenged and as you say he was giving away huge advantages in height, weight, and reach to both of them and huge advantages in youth to AJ.
