Povetkin is a gold medalist and has had a great amateur background grounding............ The key for this fight will him getting in range and luring Deontay in for one of his short crispy thick shots.:yep He is a excellent combination puncher This will be wilders first true test Povetkin is nothing special but is far better than anyone wilder has fought.
It wont be a surprise to me. I do like Wilder he is entertaining inside and outside the ring, and I reallly really want him to beat Povetkin. But I dont see what Wilder has over Povetkin. The power is similar so either can win by KO but the Russian has proven himself to be the far superior boxer over the years than Wilder who wasnt exactly schooling anybody in their fights before he knocked them out, i thought Szpilka was beating him. Wilder has height and reach advantages but doesnt seem to know how to use them. And Povetkin is looking fit and focused these days too. This wont be a fat slow lump of a Povetkin going into the fight this is an inshape hungry for the belt Povetkin. But like i say, i cant rule Wilder out but all the cards seem to be stacked in the Russians favour. In my opinion ofcourse.
Povetkin is clearly more skilled of the 2 that is also a very very important factor i dont feel he is just gonna rush in he is more seasoned for that....... if he sees a opening early on no doubt he will go for it but he wont go against the grain
The real question is, will he fall face first, on his back, or on his left or right side? Personally I think he'll fall on his back and roll around 380 degrees, the Chagaev Roll.
If Wilder can't keep Povetkin on the end of his jab and stick and move, it will be a short night for him.
