I dont think any of us are in the position to challenge the decision made by Atlas...if he feels his fighter is not ready it is his duty to do what he did...none of us are there when he spars and trains, so if teddy pulled him out its because he has a reason...many of the people in the media said they agreed with atlas' decision.

Atlas is merely being real about Povetkins' chances to be competitive against Wlad, which with Povetkin as he is now, are not good, at all.

Gotta admire Teddy's realistic decision in this.

I applaud Atlas for this ballsy, and very good, decision. Povetkin would have suffered a onesided beating, and may have lost alot of valuable steem/confidence/clout/rankings, etc, in the process.

He'll get his shot when Teddy thinks he's ready.

    Good for you, Teddy.

...........................Atlas has picked against Wlad 8 times in a row.......he hates the K O brothers so much that it clouds his judgement.....although I must say his judgement aint much better on other subjects either !!

He isn't respected in some boxing circles because he does have an abrasive personality and a huge chip on his shoulder. He's a street guy at heart and much of his life experience has made him the way he is...for better or worse. I'm not a Atlas apologist but I do like him and I won't apologize for that.

And yes, Moorer does consider Teddy a father figure as he's been quoted saying so.

He's a boxing trainer, not a bookmaker. Also, remember that Teddy says a lot of things on TV to peak the fans' interest.

If decision was correct, why are promoater and manager disagreeing, and giving another reason? If anyone thinks Atlas was looking out for fans or for fighter, they don't know him or anything about him. Well, aside from bull**** from his book.

Of course writers say he is good, he's made self friends with them over they years. Heres a guy who was ready to quit triang due to having no one left who wanted him, and was taking acting lessons and looking for choreographer work for movie fight scenes. He had movie role as hood in movie Gloria with Sharon Stone, and he ****ed up his lines so they were cut. He got into acting from training William DeFoe, for movie on boxer POW during WW2. Then movie I mentioned, and hten, Michael Moorer's people piclked him as trainer. There have been many times Mooorer has knokked Atlas, news people don't pick up on it.

No contender turns down heavyweight title shot, or any title shot. Has it ever happened before?? Povetkin is no average contender, he is number one. Plus the Bruce Seldon (On medical suspension) fight last week, and whole thing adds up to one big ****ing disgrace.
