With Wilder's injury the normal WBC procedure is that the mandatory fights another highly ranked contender (normally the #2) for the full title, while the current holder gets the "in recess" status and has the right to face the holder as soon as he's recovered.
See the Maravilla/JCC Jr and recent Drozd situation for comparison, in which Ryabinsky's own Cruiserweight has to face bellew now to get the full title back.

So, if the WBC goes by their own rules, Povetkin vs Stiverne should be for the full WBC belt. But that would mean that Wilder wouldn't be able to reclaim it without facing the winner (probably Povetkin) and can't stall anymore.

Rabiansky should wrap them all up in legal paper

I mean how many times is Sasha going to have to fight to get in mandatory

Wbc putting up the protective fence round wilder

Wilders choice to run from uk back to us to fight arreola and get the injury he should be stripped
Short term solutions call for long term headaches

You think? Haymon didn't even fork in to give Wilder a decent shot of winning the pursebid when they're sceduled to fight, so I don't believe he now suddenly pulled his wallet to make the WBC bend their rules and let him keep the full belt.
Maybe he saved up though. :conf

Why should they be fighting for the full belt? Wilder just made a defence a few weeks ago.

He's entitled time off to recover from injuries.

Povetkin has to wait because :
    1. Delaying the fight to challenge Mariuz Wach
    2. Squandering the scheduled bout in Russia for having juice in his system.

Povetkin should have acted on his mando status after Wilder beat Duhaupas.

Now he will wait till Wilder is ready.

What a waste of a fuggin' fight for Wilder this Povetkin has become. Dude is gonna get blasted out of the water without his PEDS & he will go back to being the soft boring azz fighter (Teddy said wasnt ready) that eventualy became a punching bag for Wlad except only 3 years older & slower.

Wilder's first 4 defenses have all been 'tune up' type fights. It is beyond time for him to fight a Legit contender.

Wilder's is going to be ready to fight about 30 days after the Povetkin-Stiverne fight takes place.

Povetkin got a free gold medal without fighting someone for it. He got to fight for a vacant WBA belt. Now he gets to fight for a Vacant "interim" belt.

The guy has never beaten a reigning champ in his life. Povetkin is a coward.

The WBC should just tell Povetkin to cool his heels for an extra month and just fight Wilder in January.

If he wants a belt this time, he should have to beat someone who actually has one.
