Good post. I do see your point on the casual american fight fan and how UFC's growth have effected boxings overall popularity in the states. Me personally, I try and watch every Wlad and Vitali fight thats on. Though I refuse to pay to watch them on shitty stream, thats where I draw the line. So yes, I missed most of Wlads fight with Chambers which I heard was another snoozefest until the big knockout came in the 12th. I do believe Steward is trying the best he can to open Wlad up, even though he still seems reluctant to let his hands go for fear of experiencing another shameful knockout at the hands of his oppenent. Will Wlad take more chances to increase his american fan base or will continue his safety first appraoch? Time will tell, though with less and less people watching his fights. I feel now is the time to step up and make the matches more enetaining for fight fans.
OK. How about: Teddy Atlas doesn't want his fighter in the ring with me because after I'm done with Povetkin, Teddy won't even be able to get him bouts on his FNF show. The only worthwhile thing that Teddy adds to that show is that gamblers watch it so they can make money betting the opposite of Teddy's picks.
The stream was actually pretty good quality. I had it connected to a large screen TV, and it was about the same as standard definition TV, and I had no problems with buffering, or anything like that. I'd definitely order again. And I think others who ordered would also agree with me. I thought Wlad-Chambers was pretty a good fight. Sure Wlad could have taken Chambers out earlier. But it looked like Chambers was actually trying to do something in the ring to me. But like most all Wlad opponents, he just couldn't execute due to Wlad's superior skill....resulting in the Big 12th Rd KO.
Wlad will take the tests appointed by the IBF and that's it. He's the champ, he calls the shots, not Povetkin, these requests are ridiculous. It looks like Wlad will have the IBF forcing Povetkin to fight or lose his mandatory position and drop about 10 spots on their ranking. BJ Flores refused to fight Adamek and he was also dropped 10 positions.
Do you know what format they used to steam? I use Linux and sometimes proprietary formats won't work for me.
Fair enough, some people said the stream wasn't perfect. I don't mind paying 15 or 20 for HBO for a month. I end up getting a couple fights that month and I get to watch a Wlad fight. Not to mention see a few movies and maybe watch the entourage or curb your enthusiasm. I'm not paying 15 bucs for a Wlad fight that might go down while im watching it. I seen bits and pieces of the Chambers fight, it didn't look like anything special until the 12th round where Wlad gave Chambers one of his best one punch knockouts since laying out Brock with that big hook back in 06. That punch was lethal. I hope Wlad and his brother get some fights on tv again, but at the same time I can't blame HBO or ESPN for not picking them up. US fans are not that into them, and there fights are generally pretty boring to the casual fan. So unless they plan on fighting some big names or changing there styles a little for fans, I dont see them fighting on cable anytime soon.
The problem is these are being used more as accusation than out of any concern of abuse. It doesn't do the sport good to have fighters making accusations. There is drug testing in place. In this case, there is already random blood testing mandated in this jurisdiction. That means it was made as an intentional slur.
Wlad is built like a MW/SMW. Haye is the one sporting the body builder physique. I see you are new so let me fill you in. CHEF is close to both brothers. He is Wlad's camp manager and chef. He is leaving for two weeks to cook for Vitali's camp. He knows what goes into their bodies because he is responsible for their diets. He sees them work out and knows the effort they put in. He has texted them between posts to get answers to questions, he is that close. Do we KNOW they don't use behind his back? No. Do we KNOW he KNOWS and is just lying to us? No. But doesn't SOMEONE have to be at the top? Do we have to accuse EVERYONE at the top of being a cheater? Povetkin has been mandatory for a long time and seems to not want his title shot. Wlad has been tested before and if he fights in Germany he is mandated to take the blood tests anyhow. Chef has repeated that Wlad will take the tests. No problem. Teddy Atlas has been a Wlad hater for a long time. Now he is basically accusing them of drug use? This one isn't hard to figure out for most of us.
Haye is the one who gained a huge amount of weight while Vlad has stayed the same weight for years. It is a way for Povetkin to avoid fighting Vlad, just like Void did with Pac.
people making a simple thing too complex...take the tests and then fight hell, if you are afraid of the other party backing out after u agree to tests, put it in the contract
It would be funny if it meant that the one demanding the test simply has more confidence in his pharmacist than his opponent's.
