Well, something stinks there, but maybe it's Zimin that is shovelling the ****.

It is a revelation for one trainer to publically rip another one like Zimin did.

I'm sure it's payback for Teddy implying that Povetkin flopped because Zimin was in his corner instead of the great Teddy.

Be interested to hear what Huck says about the "big stink."

I agree 100% with Zimin about Atlas. . The guy likes the sound of his own voice too much. . . He likes the camera for himself. . Kinda like Joe Cortez - trainers, and refs shouldn't have this mentality. . .

He's a good color commentator, and a pretty good analyst when calling fights, but he's nothing special as a boxing trainer.

Also, a trainer shouldn't publicly bash a fighter he used to work with. . . Like Loew did to Pavlik. . It's just an unspoken rule in the fight game.

Compare how Povetkin looked with Teddy Atlas to his fight with Huck that Zimm trained him. Zimm isnt no where near the league of Teddy Atlas as a trainer. It is just not even close. Povetkin looked horrible against Huck and I predicted that would happen since Teddy left.

Tyson said himself Teddy wasn't anything special as a trainer. Is that hating? I don't know. But Tyson continued on without Atlas and got even better. Won the title. Personally, from a trainer stand-point, Rooney seemed to be the better fit.

Atlas also likes to criticize others (and in Public) but isn't so good at self-refection. He likes to talk about perfectionist, and thinks of himself of one who has high standards and wants that with his fighters...but maybe he should do some self-reflecting. If you are going to Preach it, do it yourself; live the life.

His berating of Grant after his fight in front view of everyone was disgusting. If he wanted to do that, he should have taken Grant back to the locker room and did it there.
But it's all about how Teddy looks and feels.

And if your fighter has a problem, maybe that problem is really you.

    Sour grapes.

Povetkin was blowing hard from round 6, he was out of shape and lucky to pull through and we all know Atlas is an arse.

    :good

    Well said. . .

There's no room for a trainer to have an ego. . .

That was disgusting how he berated Grant like that. . . Do it in private.

Hopefully other boxers will now learn not to hire him. . . He is pretty decent at his ESPN job (listening to him now). . . He should just stay there.

I completely agree with the comments about Teddy Atlas.

I'm amazed that some people are still fooled by him in spite of his terrible history as a trainer and his repetitive, biased commentary on ESPN.

Teddy says he went to Donny LaLonde's apartment with a gun and intended to killing him. Obviously he's not mentally stable.

He reminds me of the Ephialtes character in the movie 300.

It's funny, he wants to be a Sensei, a Master, a Philosopher, but he is nowhere near that.

Instead, he rips guys that made it in something he couldn't do. He questions their heart and ability and resume. But what does he have to show in compared to them?

Yes, many of us fans do the same while sitting behind a computer...but knowing "we suck compared" is the Given. Personally, I'm not hyping myself up to be Mike Tyson and Cus D'Amato while telling myths about how I once climbed Mount Olympus and fought off the Titans because I just wanted my Father/Zeus to notice me.

But do you know who has extreme discipline and honor? the Man that he so likes to rip...Wladimir Klitschko. Not only is Wlad a Champion, who has lost, rebuilt himself, and come back despite all the doubts and criticism...but his display of Thought, Balance, and Discipline when confronted with someone spitting on him in the view of millions...was sheer masterful. Something Teddy admitted he could not have done.
    Class dismissed.

Why does Teddy always need a gun when he is supposed to be this legendary trainer and fighter :huh

Teddy has trained 3 fighters at diffierent points in their careers who have won the Heavyweight Championship of the World. Mike Tyson, Michael Moorer and Povetkin. Look how bad Moorer and Povetkin has already declined after Teddy stopped training them.

Lets be honest the Povetkin from the Huck fight is not on an elite level like he was Atlas trained him.
