Powcast Sport: Milan Melindo vs. Crison Sibog Omayao RBR

I was so confused at first, thinking maybe they had demoted it from an 8-rounder down to a 6-rounder...but that would be insane. This was the main event, featuring the domestic return of a former world titlist, and on a YouTube broadcast no less, so there's no television preempting to worry about. It just didn't click in my brain for a solid minute or two a corner retirement was even a possibility, it was so non-sequitur.

 

It might seem crazy that Omayao is the same cat that ran Chayaphon Moonsri aka "Wanheng Menayothin" close once upon a time, but... a) that was eleven years ago, down at straw-weight and b) like I've been telling people, Wanheng never was some world-class elite, nor even the best from his country in any given division any given year. Overrated as hell, just because of the stupid Mayweather record chase (which means nothing when you realize how much padding goes on with the records of even halfway decent fighters in Thailand).

 

Seriously, homeboy is technically 5 years my junior but could pass for my (step) dad.

 

@PinoyProdigy where the heck you at, man? You bothered tuning into Ramonal vs. Apolinar but not the return of Melindo?
