    Joe Louis

I would say young Foreman too. Yes, young George could look a little clumsy. But the way that he blocked/partially blocked Frazier's left hook time and time again was incredible. No way a Wilder or any crude slugger could pull that off.

Hagler for years was. He's starting to finally get the recognition for how skilled he was now though

Yeah Liston had some really good fundamentals.

Rubin Carter had some really good skill. He also had big power and was only ever stopped once due to a cut. At times i am surprised he didn't do better than he did. He had plenty of game.

Everybody loves the speed and power, but I can't think of a modern guy with a better feinting game. Even if he didn't need to he tied guys in knots.

Arthur Abraham maybe? He was far from the most skilled fighter, but he was far from as crude as many make him out to be. He lost comprehensively in his prime to Ward & Froch (& Direll sort of) but bare in mind they are 2 of best the best in the history of the SMW division & in title fights his KO percentage is way below 50%.

Hagler was more skilled than Ray at landing shots, but Ray was faster.

Alfonso Zamora to an extent. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he had a deep bag of tricks. Just that his style of attack, one track as it may’ve been, was a very smooth, technically sound one.

Great footwork. Seemed to glide in the ring. That in conjunction with perfect punch technique allowed his offense to flow together seamlessly. He really was a dangerous force early on. Always looked like a shorter, stockier Olivares to me.

I agree with Foreman’s skills being underrated. But Louis is regarded by many fans and historians as one of the most technically skilled punchers of all time. I know I rate him such !!

I agree. Cooney is all too often thought of as an untalented oaf when in fact he could box a bit
