Is it just me or were there a unusual amount of ridiculously powerful heavyweights in the 90's?

I don't know if it was the advent of widespread steroid use, boxers gaining access to lean muscle gainers like creatine, or just the advent of the superheavy, but there were a lot of obscure power punchers.

"Big" Art Tucker was a 6'6 powerhouse.

Terry Anderson, who was the epitome of a powerhouse with a weak chin.

There's Bruce Seldon, who had a combination of power and speed which made him lethal.

The 6'6 Rodolfo Marin was also pretty lethal.

    Phil Jackson can't be overlooked.

Derrick Jefferson was also a huge 6'6 superheavy with serious power.

Speaking of Jefferson, there was David Izon.

    Lou Savarese was very powerful.

Lance Whitaker was one of the biggest of the heavies, at 6'8. Also had serious power.

I don't know if Jameel McCline EVER weighed under 250 pounds, and he showed his power by bouncing Samuel Peter around the ring.

Courage Tshabalala, who smashed Maskaev's ribs but still somehow lost. Won all 72 of his amateur wins by knockout.

    Michael Grant, of course.

1990's power punchers off the top of my head:

    Tyson
    Bruno
    Ruddock
    Bowe
    Morrison
    Morrer
    Briggs
    Ibebuchi
    Tua
    C. Sanders
    Hide
    L. Lewis
    McCall
    Rhaman
    Maskeav
    V Klitschko
    W Klitschko
    Brewster
    Foreman

IMO, this was the best decade for punchers.

The 90's fighters are up there with the 70's fighters, as far as the best decade in my opinion. I dont know if Golota has been mentioned or not, but in his prime, the man had one hell of a jab, and seemed possess power in both hands, too bad he couldnt keep jis head together long enough to win a title, he certainly had enough chances.
