Handful of people not buying says Eddie 'Tony Hayers' Hearn 400k divided by the UK population of 66 million is only 6.66% of people paying for UK PPV fights. A tiny percentage of the UK population watch PPV fights you nougat
You need to pick your fights wisely these days as if you paid for every event it would be too much money. Paying to watch a great figher like DeGale now shot to bits vs a fighter who has proven he isnt world class is not PPV. There is very limited interest in this fight unless you are CEJ fan.
How is this PPV, Degale sells about 10 tickets FFS Can't imagine it doing that well anyway, won't have the Sky hype machine behind it being ITV, and Degale and Eubank both are hardly massively likeable characters
I think Junior is hugely popular, not quite in his dads category but casual observers are very much interested in watching him. He isn’t the best boxer but he is exciting and entertaining.
It all depends on the PPV price, if it"s 72p I'll probably fork out, for anything over £1.50, I'll give it a miss.
Whilst I don’t appreciate the socialist overtones, I make you bang right. There is no point complaining and then paying for it, hoping for change.
Most PPV fights in recent years haven't warranted the cost IMO. It's a crap model that was brought in for 'super' fights a long long time ago. It needs replacing.
It's gotten to the point that a decent/good matchup is automatically PPV. Below are some ridiculous pay per views from recent times. Eubank vs Arthur Abraham Horn vs Mundine lol Eubank vs Degale Whyte vs Chisora II Haye vs Bellew 1 and 2 Whyte vs Parker (some exciting undercard fights but still not worthy of being ppv)
Why does it need replacing? PPV fights, especially those on Sky, do bigger sales now than they ever have done. As a model it makes very clear business sense to continue using it. Yes, we'd all like it to be cheaper. But it's not a 'crap model' in a business sense. This is what I don't understand. You're effectively asking for something which has a clear market value to be made cheaper purely on the basis that you want to pay less for it. To return to a previous comparison, a car salesman selling a particular model for thirty grand a car, who is both making a fortune and making loads of sales, isn't going to lower his prices because someone comes along asking him to. Why would he?
