Just curious if eating a power bar protein bar or something like that would be as good as a meal. I know a lot of people on here are adverse to replacing a healthy and nutritious meal consisting of "real food" with things like this. Believe me, I know - that would be preferable but I have a very weak appetite and I have a difficult time forcing myself to eat either 3 normal meals or 6 small meals a day. Last night I was training at the boxing club though and I began to feel rather faint. So I am wondering if eating a few power bars a day would help with caloric/carb/vitamin intake. If so what bars would you recommend as the ones I have tried taste rather mealy/unappealing. Any helpful thoughts/advice would be much appreciated.

Never as good as whole foods, but better than nothing.

HELLL NO, you will have no energy. Eat yourself some pasta, a plate is a good 1000 carbs so even if you don't finish it you'll still have plenty in the tank

Better off with a handful of raw almonds, walnuts or cashews. Wash them down with a glass of full cream milk.

I hate those things, but I'll admit I have one every now and then when I'm starving.

They're only good because they're quick and portable. If you were feeling sick in training, then just eat more when you eat. If your stomach can't handle more food, then just add another quick meal/snack earlier in the day.

    And drink water.

if you hate eating the best thing for you would be to make a smoothie, throw in some fruits, whey protein powder, some yogurt and you're good to go.

if you dont have whey protein replace with peanut butter.

Smoothies indeed, home made. Powerbars are worthless.

I'd take a peanutbutter sandwich or a smoothie over a powerbar any day.

Hell yeah me too - try a shake with milk, banana, protein, a scoop of peanut butter and a few ice cubes. Tastes great, and goes down easier than food!

Okay I will try the smoothies. I also just found out that my medication is giving me orthostatic hypotension.
