Lol, that is the issue. Promoters don't make much money off of us real fans. They make more money off of casuals, thus the dates matter.

I overall don't care what date the PPV is on. From my experience Mexican fans usually don't care either. From what I've seen most will use satellite TV to catch channels from Mexico and watch later showings for free. I think most of them would prefer to watch Mexicans fight in May and September, but probably will watch Pacquiao and Mayweather anytime.

The date will mean **** all if it is Pac vs Mayweather. It will sell like crazy whenever they decide to fight.

Even if they put the Pac/Floyd fight on Feb. 30, fans will still watch it.

I order them all so it doesn't matter to me personally, but the Mexicans, at least where I'm from, are much more willing to spend money on special occasions like cinco de mayo weekend. Floyd and PAC could fight on the 42nd of December n sell, but a Mexican fighter, I believe, could see a significant difference in sales depending on if the fight is tethered to a national holiday or not. Point being that cotto-canelo sells far more on May 5th than any other day whereas floyd PAC sells whenever. However, if they went forward with cotto canelo in May n tried floyd PAC in June, buyer fatigue may come into play.

Yeah because its a bank holiday in May in the UK and anytime a big Floyd fight is on its always good to have the Monday off to recover.

Plus even my non boxing friends know Floyd fights twice a year May & September, that is unless he is on vacation :)

A good fight is a good fight. Period.
Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier are fighting in January (viewed as a poor month to have a fight) and I think it will do great numbers. (Well...for a UFC fight anyway)
