No they're not forced but what about the people who can't afford this money. This is probably the most working class sport in the world most of the people who fight are from what the middle class call the under class. To people like this £20 is a lot of money. You're from Manchester you should know people are struggling badly with this Tory government and I'm sick of this forum telling everyone that certain amounts of money are 'measly' etc. Why should they miss out for something that isn't a top fight I bet Takam's wages aren't representative of how much the PPV will make so it's not like it has to be PPV to make it happen.

Apparently the Buatsi and Okolie fights were not shown due to technical difficulties on Sky's part.I actually can see this fight not getting more than 500k which i would see as a failure.Lot's are just going to the pub, watching it at a mates,or like most streaming it.Good on you'se.

I'm a big boxing fan but I'm not paying for it.

It's not a PPV fight and yes PPV is unfortunately starting to become the norm in the UK, for fights that never should be.

It's pretty much greed pure and simple.

You've got this tonight, Parker fight a few weeks back and then the Eubank and Groves fights, then you've also got Haye vs Bellew, it's ridiculous. Soon starts to add up more then a measly £20 every now and again!

I hate when Hearn and that **** Adam Smith say to people it's only £20 to boxing fans, when he knows fully as a boxing fan we will have Sky Sports to watch the other fights. So it is essentially £67.50 as a Sports sub costs £47.50.

It's just life these days unfortunately.

£20 is measly, less than 3 hours work for even the lowest earners.

For 5 hours entertainment it's not bad.

A movie costs a similar amount and that's 2 hours.

If anyone pays £47.50 for sky sports they are absolute mugs.

I’m combining it with a night out round town, gonna be stumbling and wobbling round like Takam in about 6 hours.
Hope you all enjoy tonight’s boxing, have a good un!

Off the top of my head this all started when Frank Bruno first fought Tyson, for the first fight all you needed was just a satellite dish and a sky box. For the second Bruno/Tyson fight I believe it was the first PPV in the UK and was sold at £9.95p which I purchased and felt like a right mug when a terrified Bruno entered the ring.
The thing is nowadays, any fight they can get away with as a PPV they will, I mean why wouldnt they? AJ appeals to the mainstream and not just to regular boxing fans, I know someone on benefits who has no gas left on their meter but they have just purchased this evenings card. The person knows nothing about any other fighter on the bill and will not watch any of the other fights.
Personally I dont see the need to buy any PPV these days if you have a decent internet connection but each to their own, much better value is Hughie Fury on youtube for a tenner :pipi

totally agree with you, but maybe if people do buy these fights and get stung by poor quality then this PPV nonsense might come to a end

Most of the PPV fights have been shockers yet the same group of mugs come back for another rogering from EH Day.

If AJ has an easy win as expected at odds of 1/25 odds on then this night and card will be fondly remembered up there with the greatest stonkers of all time including Haye v Fraudley and Khan v McCloskey.
