these were meant to be released yesterday. does anybody know the figures yet? i heard Arum comment that it was between 1- and 1.5 with it closer to the .5- and that it had exceeded expectations- without New York and the east coast counted yet.
awesome!! that would be great if its 2 million. that would build the pac mayweather fight as potentially 3 million!! who said boxings dead- it lives on in the smaller classes. im glad casual fans and all that are paying attention to the little guys- this is where boxing is at right now- and its as exciting as ever. i put it behind the ali-foreman-frazier 60's and the leonard-duran-hearns-hagler- 80s. but the PAC-FLOYD-SUGAR-COTTO- 00's and 10's could be just behind. all the need to do is simply... fight each other. thats all they need to do -the talent is there - the stars are there. and i mean multiple fights. i already put it ahead , interest wise- , of the oscar-tito-sugar-vargas- 90's. maybe not in terms of what its done yet- but i just cant remember being this psyched about boxing in a very very long time.
Ye the llast time Arum said numbers would be 2.5m the numbers came out to be 850k.Since he's saying 2 m the numbers could be 650k
for the first time in about 5 years i heard people talking around my work, and in pubs, about pac vs manny. People who didnt even know jack about the sport, fell in love with the thought of a P4P Champ fight. I seriously am amped that mannys style has single handedly made people enjoy boxing again
I was surprised too about how many people were talking about the fight. I come from a city with lots of mexicans and they were all hyped up for it. I went to the fight and still bought the ppv so I could dvr it.
