Fights today are gonna do bigger PPV numbers, doesn't mean they were as popular or as big. Its mainly due to PPV & cable TV being more common than it was say 10yrs+ ago.

Tyson-Lewis was the most anticipated & hyped fight in my lifetime, certainly much bigger than DLH-Mayweather(Mayweather was unknown to public then), and those guys were heavyweights. It didnt do as big numbers.

DLH was bigger than Pac, Tito was certainly bigger than Pac, DLH-Tito was the more enticing matchup as both were undefeated, yet it grossed nearly the same. Pac-Cotto was sold at $55.

Is this for blockbuster fighters with 24/7? Most fights dont break the 300k mark, use to be that 300k was really succeful, sort of numbers MAB/Morales/Pac/PBF did back in the days pre-dlh.

Okay so I was lurking, looking for PPV numbers for Chavez-Whitaker and ran into this list. I could not help but notice the absence of all of Floyd's PPV's up to 2010(When this thread was made), except for DLH fight. You may have explained why you kept Mayweather out of this list, or maybe you said a criteria and Mayweather didn't fit, but then edited out.

Anyway, my question is, why isn't Mayweather-Gatti(340k), Mayweather Judah(370k), Baldomir(325k), Hatton(950k), Marquez(1.1Million) on the list?

Again, I must've missed something, maybe you did not mean to put all PPV numbers there. You also missed out Jones-Ruiz(600k), Jones-Tarver (300k), Jones-Tarver 2(385k), Jones-Tarver 3 (440k), Jones-Trinidad (500k).

    Trinidad PPVs:
    Trinidad-Wright: 520,000 buys
    Trinidad-Mayorga: 470,000 buys
    Trinidad-Hopkins: 480,000 buys
    Trinidad-Vargas: 560,000 buys

    Hopkins PPVs:
    Hopkins-Wright: 305,000 buys
    Hopkins-Tarver: 330,000 buys
    Hopkins-Taylor II: 410,000 buys
    Hopkins-Taylor I: 370,000 buys

    Cotto vs Margarito did 500k.

Pac vs Morales I and III: 345k, 360k (respectively)
    Pac vs Barrera II: 360k
    Pac-Marquez II: 405k
    Pac-Diaz: 205k
    Pac-Hatton: 800k

**** PPV. I bought a good amount of those listed, but i am sick of this **** now. Way too much money and shitty undercards now days. Mayweather-Maidana II PPV was such a shitty waste of $75. The only PPV I will buy now is Mayweather-Pacquiao, which is never going to happen

Mayweather-Maidana II undercard was pure garbage. I am a huge Floyd fan but that was just garbage.

Anyway, as far as buying only Mayweather-Pacquiao; how about Canelo-Cotto? That's a very good match up in itself.

I would be up in the air on that one. With both of those fighters, you never know which version of them is going to show up. It could end up being a great fight or a real **** fight. Odds are I would buy it though
