You can't put a one sided main event witha **** under card and charge 70 bux and expect people to pay for it.

First Mayweather PPV I didn't buy.

'm thinking danny garcia will fight mayweather no matter who wins between matthysse vs peterson because the moneys bigger and it will sell, especially the fact that garcia is still undefeated.Real fans knew guerrero wasn't a threat, but at the end of the day floyd still got 32 million for a sparring session.

I could be wrong but isn't the PPV provider showtime? (not 100% how US tv works) plus 42m is 700k buys, I'm sure it'll be higher than that.

and PPV upside normally only comes into play past a certain amount of PPV's, or it would if the company giving the contract have even a half decent market research team.

What's so funny about it is that you act as if this is some type of win for you. It's very pathetic and reeks of desperation. PBF didn't lose he schooled his mando Guerrero and made 32 million. He's still the biggest draw in boxing and has 5 more fights left. So that means you have 5 more times to get pissed off and lose sleep at night.

The standard breakdown as far as money is concerned is a 10% fee off the top for the distributor, with 45% each for the cable systems and the promoter. So when you see a price tag on a fight, you know that the promoter will get about 45% of that.

If a fight sells a million PPV's , Showtime's pay-per-view arm will get $5 million and the promoters will pocket $22,500,000. If that level of revenue, along with the other revenue streams (live gate or casino site fee, merchandising, international rights, etc.) did not meet what the promoter guaranteed the fighters, well, let’s just say that would be an unfortunate occurrence.

32 million will cause the whole promotion to lose. which means floyd was paid too much, IE: over paid

You haven't been consistent about **** other than your hate for everything PBF and have been proven wrong about him every time he steps foot in the ring and will continue to do so. Because you're an irrational hater and will never give a guy you know is one of the best fighters you've seen in the ring and ounce of credit. So you'll continue to pick against him even when it flies in the face of common sense and continue to get joy outta stuff like these early PPV results because you know damn well you won't see him lose in the ring. Typical PBF hater, hate on hater.:hi:

So working on a figure of 1 million buys, 60 million, 6 million for whoever does the PPV stuff, 27 million for GBP and 27 million for Showtime? Is Showtime paying everyone, just Mayweather or no one? either way I think the 1.2 figure is worked out on the basis than PPV is the only source of income because that would result in showtime and GBP receiving just enough to cover Mayweathers guarantee each.

Won't be surprised if it did under 1 million, although I thought it would just about hit it. Dan's twitter said his sources say it was bad (under a million) but it didn't say far below a million. Showtime's Chris DeBlasio also wrote on twitter saying he doesn't know who these sources are, but it's Showtimes business and it's too few #'s available to make a meaningful prediction.

That probably means it did worse than expected, but doesn't mean it's far from under a million. Under a million is considered a flop on Floyd's standards, but I'll wait for official numbers to be released before making any comments. I think it'll be under a million after hearing this, but no lower than 800k. If it's worse than that, damn.

I have been consistent, I have always said Floyd is not this massive draw you make him out to be, he has always needed to face someone who had a following in order to get something done in terms of PPV numbers.

Like the Judah,Gatti, and Baldimor fights these numbers show you exactly what I have been saying The only way Floyd reaches those numbers is if there is a big name attached to the ticket.:hi:
