While you wait, pray that they are under a million. That way Showtime TMT and GBP don't try to steal our money with future garbage.

It would be silly if the deal states that he can pick ANYBODY, then again there was a rumored 'approved' list that included Alexander, Garcia and Khan I think.

When will the TV people learn that guaranteed contracts in boxing never workout in their favor or the fans for that matter.

Hopefully this shatters Floyd dream of going in to the sunset with 6 easy-ish fights. I didn't mind the Ghost fight as yet another comeback opponent (and I bought it), but Alexander and Khan have zero chance of beating him so I will pass on supporting those shows.

On one hand it could be the new network on another it could be the opponent and on another it could be price

but couldnt it also be that now that Manny lost 2 in a row and it all looks hopeless for that fight the public isnt interested in watching either guy fight lesser opponents with not big fight around the corner

Floyd and Manny used the tension to sell PPVs against lesser foes than themselves, now that the mega fight drama is gone nobody is interested in their individual fights

I don't understand why people in here root for Mayweather to rob them blind. All you hear from Mayweather fans on this site is how badass Mayweather is for getting a 32 million guarantee for fighting Guerrero. Guess what guys? He gets that because we're stupid enough to pay for these sparring sessions against opponents who have proved them self only marginally. I'm a boxing fan. And as a paying fan I'd like to pay for what I WANT. I would have payed $200 for a Pacquaio Mayweather PPV. But no I got all the BS fights that both those guys were involved in afterwards. If Mayweather doesn't fight Canelo or Broner or Trout Or Martinez, I'll hold on to my money. Thanks.

Hell I'd pay $100 to see Mayweather fight Golovkin at 154. Just give me a good fight that I know will at least be mildly interesting. TMT GBP and Showtime basically tried to sell us a pile of coelacanth poop.

Some of this is just Showtime vs. HBO. They don't have the same reach and can't promote a PPV as well. The goal is to build his fights over time, I'm sure.

But of course, they're going to need to match him against someone more compelling than Guerrero. The public didn't buy it, and Mayweather himself has lost some appeal because of Pacquiao's defeat. Alvarez is the only guy he could fight for huge numbers, although Khan would do well, too. (I bet that's who he fights next.)

I know that. But Showtime will pressure Floyd to take those juicier fights now.

    They expected more ppv buys.

Floyd definitely laughs his way to the bank. SHOWTIME is the only one who loses out here if Floyd does bad.

Add to that: If he really does fight again in three months, unless it is Canelo, it will do even WORSE, because the guerrero fight will be fresh in casual's minds and there won't be as many bites.

    I'm really hoping you're right.

I know in our business we will occasionally lose a bit of money on a promotion to get out name out there. Showtime might have given Floyd a one time pass at a lesser known opponent just to get the ball rolling.

But it should be time to force Floyd to step up. Floyd doesn't like taking challenges often, so the pressure will need to be external.
