Showtime intentionally leaking numbers to get Health fighting Canelo.

This is pretty bad, especially after a poor showing.

Penetrate the market, throw Showtime and Floyd down people's throats. Showtime has to sign Mayweather on to a LOT of media appearances in general.

Inexperienced but learning production team. HBO makes fights seem epic too with the cheerleading commentary and the production.

We need popular opponents - Khan, Canelo.

Well, somebody is going to be surprised. If you're paying nearly $40 mil in fight purses to one fighter, let alone the other guy, you are going to expect some pretty high PPV numbers.

No I mean PPV numbers. When Pacquio left HBO for that 1 fight on showtime the numbers were lower than his HBO numbers and now it looks like Mayweather's numbers are below his HBO numbers.

As someone from the UK I gotta say I find Mayweather on 24/7 so much more of a better product than the All access shows.

THE problem is, no one knows about the build upvery well unless they're huge boxing fans anyway.

Showtime has over 22 million subscribers.

At $10 a pop they're not losing money anytime soon. (220 millions/month in revenue)

Umm how about the other possible and likely more realistic explanation it has nothing to do with HBO or Showtime

it has everything to do with who both guys fought on Showtime PPV :deal

Khan wouldn't generate sh*t, man. Who lied to you? Khan is lesser known in the U.S. than Timothy Bradley and Paul Williams. And they are/were barely known.

Did Pacquiao v Mosley on showtime do lower numbers than Pacquiao v Bradley on HBO?

I hope floyd fights on cbs next, not on Showtime pay-per-view

It would be amazing for boxing. And cbs could make more money with advertising

You are probably talking about Pacquiao vs Mosley.

Pacquiao vs Clottey was on HBO. Remember "Bang bang bang"?

Pacquiao vs Mosley supposedly did 1.3 million. though the numbers were never official, these #'s were from Arum and Top Rank mouth.

This is the most official website you can get the #'s from, and look what it says at the end.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=6645782

Every source that says the fight sold 1.3Mill, got it from the same guy...Bob Arum.

i care cos floyd feels he can pick whoever he wants because he willl always do big numbers. hopefully this makes him realise he got to pick a better match up if he wants to do big numbers.

Exactly but you also get an idea in those quotes who is speaking real who has been consistent and who has a better idea about the sport as a whole
