I wonder where Iole got his data. Maybe he's just making a conjecture since there's no official announcement yet.
Not bad for a supposedly mismatch of a fight. :good Trinidad-DLH and PBF-DLH was expected to be no less than competitive.
I think I guessed about 1.2m buys. A lot of people were expecting under a million, which I thought was miles off. Even thought there is a financial crisis, it doesn't affect the majority of PPV buyers because it's usually groups who buy the shows. So instead of it being one person throwing down $50, you get 10 people putting $5 in, which is nothing really. EDIT: I guessed 1.3/1.5....I'm hardly ever right, so I'll gloat
That ain't too bad considering: 1. a lot of people and boxing journalists were calling this fight a circus, to begin with and even launching some form of 'boycott' campaigns... 2. the bad shape of the economy... 3. it's hefty $55 price... 4. it's shitty undercards... Btw, it's mostly US figures. Would be interesting how it fared globally (is there even a way it can be known and tracked?).
You were lucky. You missed seeing as a skinny, malnourished Dlh trying to fight, and his body saying, sorry, I can't hear you lol. I wasted my damn money, but I had to see it. Dlh's done at the box office. Dlh is done period.
Both were responsible for the ppv. Both were cheered when they landed. Pac landed so much...not big hard shots, but multiple shots, and Dlh could not pull the trigger. Dlh was only booed after the fight for a second because some thought he quit on his stool. When you are at the end of your rope, done etc, you finish on the stoool. I don't blame dlh or his corner for stopping the fight.
