We've had ONE dubious PPV this year, and it wasnt even that bad...

Khan-MAB and Hatton-Pac were well worth it, so i'm not sure what you mean by all these shitty PPV cards.

Be thankful you dont live in USA or Australia where they get a much worse deal with PPVs

Haye-Valuev isnt a great SBO event, but that probably means Pac-Cotto will be free....so i'm perfectly happy with that.

OK fair play. But we'll see if either of these things play out how you expect.

:good There are no guarantees, but have there ever been in boxing?

The tournament might go to ****, but we should at the least get a very nice round of matches out of it which is not to be sniffed at in modern boxing.

I don't see how Sky will have any choice. If they are nowhere near breaking even as claimed, they have two choices. Either improve the product they are putting out, or take it off PPV.

This isn't about PPV but Sky will soon be in a position to force any British fight they want. I expect Hayemaker to end up on Sky and Hennessy as well. That'll mean there'll be less tv dates available so Sky will be able to tell promoters if you want a TV show then you'll need to put good fights on. Hopefully promoters will be made to co-promote shows to match their and match their top fighters.

The standard of FNF has been **** this year and really needs to be improved.

Absolutely true. Can hardly remember the last decent FNF.

Shame, Trus-Simpson might have been a decent one.

But lets be honest here and drop a bit of a bombshell. Sky knocked back Gary Davies-Ian napa.... they preferred Jamie Moore against a nobody (No disrespect to Jamie whose on the verge of big things). Now for Sky to knock back such a good fight as that while showing Edwards-Ahmed, Edwards-Bloy and Ajose-Wright 2 that really advertises that they haven't a ****ing clue what they are puttin on the telly. You have to look at the possibility that SKY are thick as ****. Seriously.

Its a ****ing joke. They take the ****. the promoters take the ****.... like i've said vote with your feet. **** these PPV's off until they can provide us with quality matches for free.

As crap as it would be to have a monopoly, if Sky do mop up the Hennessey and Hayemaker deals then it might show that they are serious about forcing good domestic cards ala HBO. I just hope they massively overhaul their coverage if this is their future boxing business strategy.

They shouldn't do deals with promoters.

The should make the promoters compete for TV dates.

Too many PPVs will kill boxing and Skys numbers will keep falling and falling. There is no real BOX OFFICE fighter from the UK now who could do a NAZ or LEWIS those were the big earners for SKY during that boom. Hatton had a decent run but for Sky now they need Haye big time but with the Heavyweight divison the worst it has ever been in they wont get huge PPVs vigures. Add that if you look at the UFC it is fast becoming a major force for tv companies to look at. I can see Sky dropping boxing and buying into the UFC as they get the best 2 in each weight fighting for the titles.
I wont pay for many PPVs on Sky if the card isn't worth it I wont get it. The only PPV I bought this year was Hatton and Pacman. I hope they do something about these PPVs drop there prices a lot of people would pay a extra fee for them but not £15. When Sky had Prem Plus how much did they charge for a game £5 was it or less this is what Sky should be charging if they continue there Box Office ****.

Not read the thread posts, though i know i would buy them all.

Bought a few that i deemed unworthy, though im comparing them to nearly ten years ago. The quality of fights i got on Sky ( FFN ) was easily better than many of the recent PPV'S of course.

Its not so much i think they are worthy, just when fight night comes around, 15 bucks compared to not having the option, burns me up. The 15 bucks isnt ever considered, its already a done deal, same as i dont consider the quality of what i get......yes i should but i dont, its just a given.

Its like......you buy something for 100 quid and get 100 quids worth say, though if you buy the better model for 200 quid, i know i am getting 150 quids worth.

Thats my general mentality to money, if that helps.

If i got to pay to see my boxing i will, if the current FFN's became 10 quid a month i would pay, yes they are absolute shithouse cards these days NOT because of the fighters, because the fights and level im used to seeing would be on such a programme and not PPV.

Who charges who ? Say theres a WBA belt on the line like last week, does the promoter give an amount to the WBA for example as he is cashing in on his fighter using there belt or what ?

Is it the other way round ? Am really lost with all this stuff.

    cheers :good
