just a great main event fight undercard is a bonus. problem is Froch Groves isn't a great main event fight. despite how many people want to talk up groves chances of winning.

It really depends on what you view. If I pay to watch novices at a local leisure centre, I am going to pay £20 at least. So in that sense to watch even a moderate domestic talent with the advantages of cameras at ringside for £15 is a bit of a bargain.

Pro Boxing in modern times (post 1970) has been an expensive sport to watch. And that is because it is arguably the most capitalistic driven sport going. If you want that to change, I am up for the Revolution!

Main event need to be between to quality and Proven fights, ie my problem with Groves he isn't proven. and the undercard should have another title fight on it or at least a big big fight, Burns vs Beltran would be main support level IMO or Frampton vs Quigg ect. Then something is PPV worthy, an undercard stacked with meaningless fights where a matchroom fighter fights some nobody, If i am paying extra it should be a real quality card not just one quality fight, Froch Groves doesn't even have that quality fight it could be a total mismatch.

You can't compare watching a fight at a show and watching it on telly so the prices between televised sport and live sport are incomparable regardless of the level.

I expect a world class title fight between two top names and at least two decent match ups on the undercard of up and coming or pretty well known fighters. I also don't expect to have adverts every ****ing 3 minutes either but that happens.

PPV doesn't just cost 15 quid either, we pay sky sports 30 quid a month for our sports packages we shouldn't have to pay any ****ing more.

Mayweather v Canelo , Garcia v Matthysse raised the bar for me. Two quality world title fights. That said I wouldnt fancy paying the PPV prices they pay in the states $60. For £14.95 one top World title fight and a healthy competitive undercard and I'm happy. Nothing worse that 3 or 4 one sided mis matches.

Not sure about you mate but i pay the £30 for more than just boxing, i watch darts, football and tennis. It's a sports package not a boxing package your paying for, that's why you only pay £10 for boxnation.

I know, tell me about it. I went to Lewis/Bruno, got drenched and saw next to nothing for £25. I then the following week went to Benn/EubankII, did not see Eubank land a punch for £40 and watching a few days later on TV saw the fight was a pretty fair draw.

That is £65 + travel + programmes and meals out + two nights stay + inflation from 1993, that would of cost now a days £30 in PPV in £50 in pizza and beer...

'PPV is for special fights'. 'I don't know if Froch v Groves will be PPV but if it is it will have a stacked undercard'.

I remember Hearn saying things along these lines.

It is a truism that you can never trust a boxing promoter even if it is friendly Eddie the guy who is really more a 'boxing fan' and 'your mate' than a promoter.

Bottom line: if a politician failed to deliver on his promises the way Hearns does people would be calling for his head. It's Eddie though and it appears no matter what he does he can do no wrong.

How about you pay for your Sky Sports partly for football, and Sky pick out some of the most interesting matchups and charge you an extra £15 for them?

I mean, that's a bargain isn't it? £40 to watch it live... you're getting it for only £15!

But you know what?--I don't think people would be happy about paying Sky twice over...

To be fair, Hearn has done well for Froch/the fans getting him the Bute and Kessler fights.

But yes, he has bullshitted the fans when it comes to PPV.

who can remember those amazing ppv's in the mid-late 90's that combined u.s and uk ppv cards?

imo ppv should be the standout fights in world boxing, froch-groves unfortunatley is not that
