Why is it that PPV fights are hardly ever evenly matched? Most of them have a clear favorite and it comes as no surprise when they outclass the opponent. What are PPV fights that were REALLY 50/50 fights. Only ones i can think of are Alvarez vs Lara and Bradley vs Marquez

A thread clearly opened by someone who just recently started following the sport.

    But to give another example:

Tito-Vargas: Tito was the betting favorite, but the boxing media was 50/50 split on who they thought would win. Probably more of the media was picking Vargas.

Yeah. Im 20 years old, stuck to 60s to 80s boxing until about 2007. Only seen about 30 of the 85(?) PPVs live. Of those 30....only 2 in my book were 50/50 fights.

DLH-Quartey was considered just about 50/50

DLH-Whitaker was considered just about 50/50

Jones-Toney was considered just about 50/50

Lewis-Golota was considered just about 50/50

That turned out really different, but the odds were astronomical in Tyson's favor.
People actually feared for Holy's health before the fight.

    Naming a couple not named:

Mayweather-Judah (a lot gave Judah a real chance)
    Jones-Tarver 2

I know it's a UK PPV, but Froch vs Groves 2, many had Groves in that fight.

There are many fights out there that the favorite was a 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 at most. Those can be classified as competitive fights where the opponent clearly has a far better shot. Want to see truly farce fights with comical odds?, watch GGG's entire career.
