    its interesting point

everyone talks about how americans use to be much successful back then espically in heavyweight divison.

but its interesting to notice one thing,

    back in the day,
if you were a euro,or latin etc
fighter if you wanted a title shot

you usually had to go to the usa.

    and most of the time
the guy coming over lost to the american and people
just said well americans are better.

but around 1990 when the WBO came around and a lot of european fighters became world champion,
and guess what many americans went over to europe to fight
    and many of them LOST.

yes there were new pro's from places like russia...which is of course important

but many guys from places like england became long time champions and
    stars....

places all over europe created champions anywhere from
germany to poland to italy to hungary to england....

for a while americans tried to call wbo
    a european belt,
not mentioning that the other 3 belts were often controlled by american promoters......ie. don king or bob arum

basically its interesting cause you watch something like the
    super 6 now
and you notice how successful the home turf guys are.

basically the question is would americans have been as successful in the old
days if they chellenge for the title in germany or poland or thailand etc...

not just a guy like ali makeing world tours,
    but real even turf,
not a british guy coming to madison square garden all the time if he wanted a belt

and please dont mention robberies, because the williams-lara,chavez- zbick
fights show that it aint really easy for foreign fighters to win in usa.

its a common fact that the majority of americans who travel to europe to fight get their pussys stomped on.

home advantage is huge in boxing, far more important than most people understand.

In Germany, a prime Ali would have lost to Alexander Dimitrenko.

Aren't Ecuador almost unbeateable at home due to their ground being stupidly high?
