i disagree ...i favor a dirrell....and sergio mora(2007-2008) at 154 against GG G as well......id make GGG a slight favorite over archak termeliksetian from the same time frame

Fight would look a lot like Chavez vs Roger Mayweather. Dirrell would look OK for a couple rounds then pop, Dirrell on the canvas.

Pressure fighters who can punch accurately on the move dont have problems with runners like Dirrell. Golovkin is one of those guys who can punch just fine on the move, and since he can cut off a ring as well and his jab is better than Dirrell's to boot.. fight would be about 10/1 odds in favor of GGG.

Dirrell with his length and movement would give GGG problems. I haven't seen GGG in with a fighter like Dirrell to pick him over Dirrell. Dirrell was doing just fine against Abraham before he was fouled.

Abraham and GGG fight nothing alike though. Abraham not really known for jabbing and he certainly did not in that fight - he lived and died by the lead right hand, which he was starting to find some major success with late in the fight before the DQ.

It's funny when they ask that when the answer is Dirrell. Yes the amateurs are different from pros but Golovkin's style has adapted very well whereas Dirrell, well we know that went, unfortunately. It's a fight I would've loved to see on the pro level though.

How has Golovkin's style adapted better than Dirrell's when dirrell has better record between the two.

Dirrell himself, as some have noted.

The problem for Dirrell, is how would he trouble GGG?

Something people seem to forget from the Abraham fight, is the DQ foul that came was even able to happen because Dirrell was tired, hurt and sloppy - kept stumbling and slipping and he had a down in the previous round that wasnt, but should have been ruled a knockdown.

Abraham didnt jab at all hardly, he didnt cut off the ring very well either. He just chased him with a lead right hand for the whole fight slowly walking forward with his hands up.

Considering that GGG is a much better technical boxer than Abraham, and while Abraham might actually hit harder (maybe, lets just say he does here for the sake of argument) Golovkin has a much more varied offense and better footwork.. I just dont see how Dirrell has a single advantage in the fight or could have more than some occasional success in spurts with some potshots.

Unlike Ward, Dirrell was actually pretty one dimensional. Where Ward can fight at any range, Dirrell had one mode - potshot moving backward. Ward, with his versatility can usually find a range or habit in the other guy to make them uncomfortable and gain an advantage. For a guy like Dirrell, who only really has one good option, true pressure fighters (not brawlers)and offensive counter-punchers like GGG are some of the worst style matchups.

and faced the far better competition. I really don't know how good Golovkin is based on his resume to this point in time.
