Chavez walks him down and crushes him on the inside.

Corrales is not in the great category. He never was. Any great will beat him rather easily. Chavez would stop him in about 5 rounds.

Chavez tko in a good fight. Corrales would be smart to fight like in the second Casamayor fight, but he wouldn't.

I don't see Corrales being competitive. Chavez is too great and strong.. Corrales gets overrated a bit and I am not sure why. He had a great fight with Castillo, but he is not a great fighter. I am not sure anything else Corrales did was great. But that fight was something else. Great fights happen when fighters of equal levels fight, then they are hitting each other evenly.. Neither Corrales and Castillo were great. But they fought great that night.

Corrales doesn't do to badly and makes it entertaining, but Chavez grinds him down. 11 round ko my prediction.

Coralles is a warrior but he gets stopped in this one.Chavez had a helluva chin and was very tough. Those body shots would take their toll

Chavez roughs him up. Even the pre-prime 130 pound version.
There's a long gone poster called cereal monotony that wrote that Corrales would have destroyed Duran due to his length, power and toughness. Needless to say I was astonished.

Corrales is not overrated. He stopped Garcia, Manfredy, Gainer, and Castillo. He made Freitas quit and decisioned Casamayor (close). He took Garcia and Freitas' zero. He would be at least competitive with anyone 135 and lower who stood in front of him. Floyd was the only guy to dominate him and he moved and ambushed.

Those names are not exactly great names.. Casamayor was on the downside. Corrales would be no match for the elite.. He always folded.

Casamayor was prime and had several of his best wins after that loss.

Corrales folded once while prime and it was against an ATG.

The only prime great beaten by Chavez was Rosario and he barely fits that definition.

you cannot make an ordinary guy great. he was not in the class of Chavez, and Rosario would have destroyed Corrales

Corrales loses no doubt but he makes it past the 5th. Chico vs Castillo should tell you everything about this match up. Although unlike vs Castillo, Chico stays down around the 9-10th.

    You can't make Corrales ordinary.
