You may be right. Joshua is bigger and more well rounded than Shavers, but he doesn't hit as hard, nor does he have Shavers timing or vicious finishing ability. Joshua doesn't like being smothered by fearless, determined guys like Lyle. He'd certainly do better than Dillian Whyte and has the chance of an upset. If Joshua doesn't take him out by the middle rounds, it could get very ugly, very fast. Lyle had the stamina to keep throwing heavy shots all the way to the 12th (Ledoux fight), can take Joshua's jab away with his counter overhand right (Foreman fight), and will be digging to the body which could drain the bodybuilder's occasionally suspect stamina (see the painful shots Lyle landed on poor Bugner).
