Two scenario's. 1. Defending our sport to people with a natural dislike for it based on it's violent nature and seemingly shady nature. Who/what do you use as a bastion of hope and integrity to state your claim in boxing's defense? 2. Updating casual fans on the state of boxing currently. Do you hype fighters and fights that you would otherwise discredit and put **** on (here), for the general good of the sport?
#2 for sure. I may get on here and talk **** and nitpick about certain characters in the sport... but it doesn't mean I can't sweep some of that under the rug just to get some casual eyes on the fights because that's whats best for the sport. The casual fight fan doesn't become a casual fight fan by wasting time with all the minutia and nuance of a contract negotiation. For better or for worse, the fan becomes a fan after seeing great fights or likeable characters fighting for glory. :deal
