Not going to answer that question because I cant . Only Ward knows whether or not the rematch is going to happen . Despite Ward getting the official "Win" , He's the one that has to prove himself now , He's the fighter that has to redeem himself , Not Kovalev .
Hopefully a rematch w/ Kov. if not, he better move to HW next, since he's 32, and that is what his trainer said he would do by 32, so that means Ward said it according to the board idiots.
no, he has the chin to get up and grin with kovalev (albeit it shook him up) so its more than enough to deal with chubby boy. actually povetkin is one of those whom he would stand a good chance against. Hes not huge, hes limited in his options to attack, has no plan B, hes not a big hitter and its still debateable whether hes world class.
He'll do everything possible to avoid a Kovalev rematch: tune ups, delays, drop his belts, anything. In the meantime he'll fight a nobody a year at most, calling out GGG to keep his name in the papers.
why, what is povetkin at pro level? someone who has been a spirited but failed contender at his very best. Ward has become number 1 in one division without difficulty, and has put forward a case for being number 1(equal first) or 2 in the next division up. Based on that what would you project his success at HW to be?
He got a gift decision against Kovalev, how is he number two at 175? Can he beat Beterbiev, Adonis, Pascal? Fonfara? Nobody KNOWS.
I am not claiming he didn't get a gift - in fact that is PART of MY argument. So you can end that one now. kovalev is number 1. There is nothing wrong with arguing he drew with him, despite what you think with your bias (though a win is too much, a gift as you agree). If you draw with number one what are you? do the math.
