so you are claiming you don't think kovalev is number 1 at LHW? ok. but I don't agree, I think kovalev has done enough to prove he is number 1 by far above pimp and that other still very green guy.

just be careful you are destroying the very people you are trying to support.

Kovalev is number one, but we cannot gauge Ward at number two just by him getting a gift decision against Kovalev. Remember before Ward faced Kovalev he beat a bunch of lower tier fighters.

He was talking about Cleverly for preparation for KOvalev.
My guess is Cleverly in California/Vegas late spring on HBO for 3 mil, then drop his IBF title when Beterbiev purse split is ordered, then defend his WBO and WBA titles vs a non-threat plodder. Maybe JCCJr can buy a ranking with the WBO or WBA. At 175 his power is nill, and he's shown that at 170+ he's a mere plodder with no inside game.
Im wondering if Joe Smith Jr can last the bell vs BHOP next w/e, perhaps he'll get a fight with Ward after a comeback win vs a china chinned Detroit fighter.

He had ZERO financial backing before beating decent opposition on NBC and then beating the robbed WBA Champ in devastating fashion.

Ward is a prideful and stubborn man. I don't think that he fears a rematch with Kovalev because he knows that his only path forward is through a rematch with Kovalev. He is just not gonna be dictated to by HBO's Kellerman, Lampley , Roy Jones or Kovalev's team. Like it or not, he is the champ and they will have to respect that position and talk to him like he's the champ instead of acting like he don't deserve what he got. You can't get anywhere with Ward with that attitude. He will do the rematch but it will be on his terms. It could be sooner or later and that depends on how he is approached.

The robbed WBA champ? Are you talking about Hopkins? His financial backing is irrelevant to my question. All I wanted to know is who has he beaten that sets him above Ward.

so therefore you must admit that ward has a strong claim to being close to him, having earned a draw if we are being fair. If 3G drew with kovalev at LHW, he'd have a claim to being close to number 1 at LHW.

If Beterbiev drew with number Kovalev he'd have a case for being at least number 2. But i think I get you....
...becasue his name is Ward, thats why. Well YOU cant guage it, thats for sure.

Hes not really the champ though. noone will call him what with a fair mind. It was a draw at the most for Ward, and that means he didnt take titles. He earns a number 1 contender rating though.

Im talking about when Shumenov got a clear gift vs Campillo and was directly follwed by another robbery vs Cloud.

Campillo was the righful WBA and IBF Champion when Kovalev dismantled him like a HWC vs a club fighter.

Make no mistake, he is the champ. He has all three belts in his possession and is recognized by the organizations behind those belts as the champ. You and some other people might not feel that way but it is what it is. However, there are people who feel that he is the champ and that's their prerogative. One thing I am confident that he's not and that's number one contender. That's Kovalev's position.
