Ok, I understand what you're saying. So I ask you again, who has he beaten that sets him above
    Ward?

If I were Ward my very next move would be to check the bank balance and then polish the belts...

Word on the street is that he's paid a huge sum for the worlds biggest block of cheese and 3 tiny little canes. A Christmas gift to the 3 blind mice that judged his last fight. I kid.

I give him respect but I'm not going overboard just because he fought the 'huge, scary monster Kovalev'. Come on man. Ward is a p4p fighter and was struggling to make 168, despite what some say. He moved up and fought the baddest guy in the division. That's how it should be. I'll hold GGG and whoever else to the same standard. People act like Ward was this huge underdog and so much smaller. Let's keep it real. He acted like a real fighter (despite his demands) when he signed for the fight. I also credit Kovalev for taking on a p4p fighter for a relatively small purse just to get the fight made and not pissing and moaning about American judges and the fight being in the USA.

It's not like when Spinks moved up to face Holmes, Conn against Louis or even Brook against GGG.

My comment was directed more towards those who believed he'd duck, and those that still do. If they haven't given him credit already, they never will.

3g has yet to attain the status that ward had in his first title fight (Kessler)

Hmm. Wasn't Ward an underdog vs Kessler, can't remember. Right now, GGG is a long serving champion whilst Ward was a contender back then. I will say that GGG hasn't beat someone at Kesslers level yet although Kessler was slowing down when Ward got him, plus the head-butts didn't help. Anyway if GGG moves up I'll expect him to face the best ,as he should.

yeh that's what I mean Kessler was better, ggg has yet to attain that level of win.

we can "expect" 3g to face Godzilla next.

My money is on the big lizard by dq. I thought the Ward Kessler fight was an ugly fight man. It's like Kessler suddenly found himself competing in a new sport full of butts and grapples and general roughhouse tactics. Not a pretty sight.

OK, let me see, three judges appointed to make that call and make it stand said he won. Three championship organizational bodies honored the decision and awarded him the belts. He is recognized by those organizations as their champion and also by people all around the world. Myself, I think the fight could have went either way and I am ok with the decision and have no problem recognizing Ward as the legitimate champion. It's ok if you and others don't, that's the way of the world.

Ward first goes to court and tries getting some corrupt activist judge to absolve him of responsibility both personal and legal. If that does not work he then drops belts and fights Cleverly in Oakland. If the negativity and backlash is too harsh he simply retires.

Yes, as I predicted in the prediction thread, Andre was going to win by robbery and then go back to Oakland and duck a rematch. He knows he got a gift. Now he will milk it. He won't tempt fate again.
