Predict Danny Garcia's Remaining Career

If Garcia chooses to remain at 154 his career will effectively be over. Danny gives up too much height, reach and weight come fight night. Garcia is Five Foot, Eight inches tall with a 68 inch reach. Charlo on the other hand is Six foot with a 73 inch reach.

I think Garcia will fight a few more times and either retire quietly or be forced out through another one sided loss.

Danny Garcia at this point will be a stepping stone for up and coming '54 pounders. He may be able to beat some C or B level fighters but I don't think he will ever get a belt at that weight. Unless it is very difficult for him to make '47, he should stay there and hope to win one of the belts once the other champs move up in weight.

 

Garcia had no real power at 147 and, as you say, he was small. He's going to be tiny at 154. If he somehow gets a shot at Charlo he will lose by brutal KO. Even the limited Tim Tszyu would take him apart.

Garcia was a good fighter but he is well past his prime and, at 154, well out of his best weight class. He is hoping for one last payday.

 

A few more paydays, then hopefully sees the light and retires before a severe beatdown at a weight he shouldn't be in.

I think he will retire after someone KO's him at 154 and it might be his next fight.

 

Hard to judge Garcia at 154 since he didn't have to fight last night, Benavidez did nothing but act like a punk for 12 rounds . A complete lack of effort that seemed strange

 

Danny Garcia will play it smart and be fine. He’s not getting fed to charlo unless PBC gives him one hell of a pay day . Or Tim Tsyzu or anybody else like that.

logcially there are few decent fights for him

1) Thurman rematch at 154. Marketable and entertaining . No grave threat . Keith on same career path.

2) Crawford v. Spence winner moves up rather than face ennis and Garcia gets their toes wet at the weight before going straight to Charlo.

3) Lara, J-Rock Williams , Harrison - all older and on the same arch of their career . Nothing too dangerous here .

 

34 is not young at all in boxing. I would actually say his biggest fight was against Matthyse and he also won a big one (money wise) against Khan. If he’s still fighting its pretty much just for money.

 

Charlo is too big and hits too hard. I doubt he wants that fight anyway.

Thurman at 154 would be good.

Lara is the logical next step and a winnable fight too. I think Danny can definitely catch and stun lock Lara , then finish him off.

Its Danny's style to rip hard hooks to head and body and thats what makes his fight good to watch. So hopefully Lara or somebody else happens soon
