I dont think it will be ward, I get why people would say him of course but I just cant see him keep that up vs solid opposition for long at 168/175. Sillakh or bute takes care of him within 2 years.
Broner, Khan, Alvarez all have decent chances imo. Titleholders at a very young age. What also is important is the accomplishments at the tail end of a decade are usually more influential than those at the beginning, just like how fights at the end of a year will have more of an effect on selection of FOTY.
A lot of people go by popular guys who have talent. Look at canelo for example, he is talented, young, and a beltholder(regardless if its fair or not, he has the level). Problem is he is small and lacks some skill, he is forced to stick to 154 his whole career, if he goes up he will be outsized big time, and he cant go down either, there are a lot of guys who can handle him stylistically, floyd and pac both beat him up at this point and so do guys like cotto, sergio maybe even kirkland. With Khan you just know he aint going to fix his flaws and get stopped eventually at 147 unfairly labled a hypejob by then if he gets by peterson first of course. And broner is a poor mans mayweather, who would have been beaten to a pulp by gamboa if they would fight soon.
I was really only going strictly by age and where they're at, I've never seen Ioka fight but his record looks very promising. For example- Jones was largely considered "untested" until he stepped up to fight Toney (3 years into the decade), since no one had a clue how good Bhop was gonna turn out If Ali was FOTD of the '60s and Duran the '70s, they were very young and in the fledgeling stages of their careers when the decade broke out, yes I may be wrong and in fact it possibly might not be any of the choices in the poll at all
I would of put gamboa and donaire but I'm not sure how effective they'll be the second half of the decade once there speed declines Givin there age mid decade
Ward, Alvarez, or Donaire. Those are the only ones I could name for sure as standing out to me above the rest. We are already 1/5 of the way done with the decade. What those guys have accomplished since the calendar turned 2010: Ward, age: 28, 4-0: UD Green, UD Bika, UD Abraham, UD Froch Alvarez, age: 21, 9-0, KO 7: KO Baldomir, UD M. Hatton, TKO Rhodes, TKO Cintron Donaire, age: 29, 6-0, KO 4: TKO H. Marquez, KO Sidorenko, TKO Montiel, UD Narvaez
