Tua weighed in at 243.75. Barrett at 222. Both say they've trained the house down, and reports from the media said that Tua looked "fighting fit." Tua had his way with Barrett the first 4 rounds before either his conditioning or shoulder gave out. Look for Tua to stop Barrett in 4.
Well this match up has the making of the perfect storm for both of these fighters. I have no prediction other than a great fight will breakout in that ring. Id venture to say that both men equally matched and passionate about this fight, for them its personal. There's unfinished business to take care of.
Hmm, 243?!! Well, looks like only one of them trained seriously for this fight. Here's the link to the weigh-in, i'm sticking with my prediction of a Barrett UD [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpoONRKZwes"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpoONRKZwes[/ame]
Thanks for posting, by my reckoning 110.8kg makes Tua 244lbs, & he looks flabby for sure. I'd like to throw my vcash down on Barrett, because i'm confident he takes a decision, but i'm very worried Tua will get corrupt biased judges. Tua managed to secure biased judges to give him a Gift Draw against Barrett in Atlantic City last time they met, & this time they're fighting in the very Pro-Tua New Zealand.
Damn, 1 pound off. Tua looks horrible, Barrett looks in great shape. Still sticking to a Tua victory mind
I agree with you i checked the footage from the first weigh-in and Tua looked much more defined. If he has trained hard for this fight then he's doing something wrong with his diet, but my suspicion is that his team never disagree with him and he simply doesn't get pushed hard enough in training. Also, he only uses local 'kids' as sparring partners, surely that isn't going to prepare him well for a top-level opponent...
Bloody hell. :---( Tua looks awful. Pretty sad to see as a longtime Tua fan. Hate to say it, but I think he's going to take an L on home soil. Not even biased judges can save him based on what looks like a lack of effort in training. I'll still be rooting for him though!
Tua looks in poor shape, but he is getting older, has always been somewhat rotund. Barrett looks okay and he should give it a shot. It is possibly going to be a carbon copy of the first encounter with Tua losing a UD.
Barrett looks good, he's always in good shape so his weight is no surprise. Tua looks fat and 243 is heavy for him, but I still think Tua wins, probably by close, controversial decision.
just a heads up to "most" of the dummies on here.....read my post above again and worship me like you should
