It always comes down to money $$$. People don't mind losing as long as they get paid.

Example: During Mike Tyson's reign Don King had to pay his opponents well (despite him being a crook) in order for Tyson to become Undisputed. He really had to pay Larry Holmes a grip to come out of retirement to be beaten up by Tyson. Nobody minded getting beaten as long as they got paid.

Marvin Hagler was ducked so viciously that Congress had to get involved and force promoters to give Hagler a title shot because of the way guys were ducking him. True story. First it was the robbery of his first title shot against Vito Antuofermo, a Italian mob fighter.
Then it was Alan Minter and his racist rant,"No black man is going to take my title".

Every fighter vs Floyd Mayweather Jr.. Everybody knows that they cannot win and they just want the money. Even Golovkin himself was willing to melt down to 154 and below for that shot at really getting millions and losing by UD. Floyd has not hurt an opponent since Guerrero, and it would be nothing more than a well paid sparring session. Remember before ODLH, Mayweather was Rigondeaux x10. Nobody wanted to fight the guy.

Sergey Kovalev had to pay every fighter more than he got all the way up until Mohammedi. Think about it. How ****ed up is it to be champion and every fighter no matter how weak they are gets more than you because they are afraid.

K2 is going to have to start paying. Kovalev did it just to get this far and he has far less fanfare and money as GGG.

If the fight does happen, I don't think Eubank gets past GGG's jab. Blackwell was having some success with the jab.

Money could be the reason we're not getting GGG v Lara too. HBO or K2 probably don't want to spend 7 figures for a voluntary defence against an opponent that doesn't generate much public interest.

 

I knew all along these two cretins were just using GGG's name and appealing to the gullable(sp) casuals. The Eubanks are both lousy human being that are bad for the sport and life in general.

The worst thing is that we now have to endure more fights with Jr gloating and taunting as he beats up on domestic level competition. While the usual suspects parrot how GGG ducked him and would get stopped by him.
