Diaz won't understand what happened. He will never be in range. He will always be out of position. it'll be more like Pavlik vs Hopkins than Margarito vs Cotto. Ring generals, counterpunchers, the guys who can really control the range of a fight. These guys always **** with agressive fighters like noone else. JMM WIDE UD. And btw Juan Diaz is fast for a guy his size but to a guy with the recent experience that JMM has had, Diaz will look just average in speed.
Maybe so, but something tells me it will be harder for JMM than he thinks. Either way he eeks through it.
i also think jmm would outclass diaz. the gap in the level of skills is just huge. but imo, diaz style and a little advantage in size would make this a harder fight for jmm than it really should.
i just finished watching jmm-casa and the more i think about this fight, the more i'm considering jmm by late stoppage. diaz' high work rate will only leave him even more vunerable to jmms countering and sharp combos. granted casa was well past it but he still possessed the power which didnt seem to really phase jmm throughout the fight. compared to casa, diaz is less skilled with less pop. i agree PHILLA, jmm will outclass him.
Philla explain to me how this is gonna look like Pav-Hopkins? The more accurate comparison IMO would be Cal-Hopkins, except that the guy with the heavy workrate wins this one more cleanly
Good analysis - agreed, Diaz is a good fighter, but JMM controls the pace and wins a wide UD or late TKO.
Juan Diaz is a very good fighter, but he is up against someone with a stylistic advantage and is the p4p 2. Consider how easily Juan handled Katsidis, same Katsidis who gave Casamayor a pretty tough time and Casamayor did well enough against JMM. You would think this would be a close fight, but it isn't, JMM is troubled by fellow counterpunchers and Juan isnt that. I think JMM keeps this guy at range, he throws straight punches vs Juan Diaz swings...thats advantage no.1 right there. Juan Diaz relies on tiring out his opponents, JMM has one of the best stamina's, another advantage for JMM. JMM is troubled by power when caught, Juan Diaz doesnt have too much 1 punch power, advantage no.3 for JMM. Juan needs to get close to his opponents, JMM has too good of a footwork and ring generalship to let it happen, advantage no.4. JMM holds no disadvantages in this fight. I predict he just throws those combinations from mid-range at Juan whilst constantly circling back. Juan will get in now and again but JMM has enough pop, speed, combinations and footwork to punch his way out. He will get in mid range again, throw combinations and this will repeat for pretty much most of the fight. By the end of the fight, it will either be a late TKO for JMM or a clear and wide UD for JMM, a late TKO is unlikely but Juan can get cut and ref/corner stops the fight from too much punishment.
I guess I will be the only man rooting for Diaz on here. No one expected pac man to beat barrera. Same will happen with diaz
