Juan Diaz is a good kid but he's getting ktfo tomorrow. Dinamita will knock him out in the 11 with a lunging left hook to the jaw that the baby bull won't see coming and then its buenas noches
Turned out a lot closer than I imagined. Still, Diaz lack of power pretty much lost him the fight as I think someone who caried KO power would have KO'd or atleast KD JMM during that fight. Wasn't sure the KO would come but the cut did and IMO it would have definitely lead to a TKO had JMM not finished it in the 9th. Still won a bit of money on it!
I'm not dissing your opinion but its the type of opinion that someone would make without looking at all the pieces to the puzzle..... If Diaz threw down with power, he would'nt be nearly as fast and his workrate would suffer.... .....it likely would have given JMM more room to operate, and to break down more simplistically and in less grueling fashion. IF this fighter had this, if that fighter had that......if they had those things, other facets of their game would have suffered!
I thought if JMM just circled to his left more he could have had Diaz completely bemused. And the opening to move was definately there. However, I did think Diaz would win about 3 rounds on Marquez which is what i had (5-3 for JMM at the time of the stoppage)
that was sure money. jmm late stoppage all the way. as i've said, you need power or supreme technical ability to beat jmm. diaz didnt have either so he lost. his is a good fighter who throws a lot but that could only go so far. technique and substance over quantity all day baby. diaz is a good kid and i wish he'd win another belt soon. jmm is almost at the end of his career and could be moving to 140 pretty soon so it's open for diaz and the other guys at 135. jmm should take another belt at 140 against bradley or something and be a 4 division world champ, then hope for a match against the winner of hatton-pac, we all know pbf will not fight him.
Most of you probably did'nt notice......I did as I'm a JMM fan.....but I noticed in the John Juarez fight that the ring was small....... .....that surely was'nt by accident as it was to both Diaz and Juarez' advantage to have a small ring, and they were in their backyard.... .....its a reason why Juarez had some success in getting too John, and a reason why it simplified matters for Diaz to cut the ring off on Marquez and get him at the ropes. Had their been a bigger ring, you definitely would have seen Marquez circling at a wider angle making it more difficult for Diaz. .....as it was, Marquez did a great job bobbing and weaving and deflecting most of Diaz' big shots, and shooting straight up the middle cleaner and more effective shots of his own.
i definately did notice that. One of the first things i noticed Actually i noticed it before the John fight when everyone was in the ring and the thought that went through my head was "John is a featherweight but in this ring he looks like he's taking up the space of a heavyweight." I am a big fan of both John and JMM and noticed right away that this would work against them. I was gonna make a comment on it but since i don't have the actual measurements i prefer not to throw myself out there
Rubbish, guys like Tyson & Pac throws a lot of punches with power. Maybe not so much with Pac now as he has gone up in weight, but still, he carried KO power in his fists whilst throwing tons of them. Diaz is a fighter who would be tough for anyone, but you know what type of fighters will beat him because of his lack of power & because he is very limited, he literally only knows how to fight one way and that is ra-ta-ta-ta-ta. JMM operated the way I envisioned he would operate. What impressed me was Diaz ability to take punishment whilst walking in thus forcing JMM into a war and really cut off the ring.
Diaz was throwing near one hudred punches a round vs Marquez.......the HBO team mentioned at the half way point of the fight that Diaz in six rounds had already thrown more shots than either of Pac's fights with JMM in their entirety. Please, power punching fighters rarely have a high workrate, at least not close to 100 punches per round.
Why be afraid to post what you see? As soon as I saw the ring size once the Juarez-John got started, I knew that JMM would likely be forced to plant his feet and make a punching stance vs Diaz.... Goes to show you the mental toughness of JMM, that he block out what was against him, the Diaz homeyard, the ring size, and just recognize what he had to work with and go to work like the champion that he is.
From the start. I did NOT give Juan DIAZ a chance. I already mentioned that BABY Bull is a product of HYPE!!!! I said he was exposed by PAPA Nate. Now he was exposed again by JMM. Congrats JMM for confirming that Juan Diaz is plain and simple HYPE!!!!
Not true at all Silvermags. Juan Diaz gave JMM a good run for his money every step of the way until the stoppage. Most of you thought that it'll be an easy night for JMM. While me and a few others saw it the other way around and predicted that JMM will have great trouble with Juan. And it showed. Juan Diaz is a great fighter that would've given every single Lightweight out there alot of trouble. For Marquez to adjust and overcome a punching machine like Diaz, by KO nonetheless, is truly remarkable. I don't know why you and some Pac fans are getting all defensive about this. I notice alot of you are getting unusually aggressive and making alot of threads discrediting JMM ever since the fight. What's the deal man? We should all give JMM the credit he deserves and stop the bashing. I know that there are alot of idiots here who don't do the same to Pac when he wins, but that doesn't mean that we should stoop down to their level and do the same to JMM. Our reputation as Pac fans is bad enough in this forums(unfair or not), lets not make that even worse by doing the same exact thing the haters are doing to Pac.
same with Chris John, and not to mention the virus just prior to the fight. Actually a small ring affects John's style even more than JMM because he has less pop. Also Marquez in Houston had TONS of fans backing him. John had zero.
