Tua is a great solid heavyweight who appears to have found some of his old form, but will never be exacly where he once was. Friday has been on a good form run albeit over 2 years or so since his last 2 victories over unbeaten foes. Tua can bang but Friday has mixed in better quality company while Tua was inactive .... Ibragimov, Povetkin, Lyakhovich, and Guinn.. I dismiss the lost calls about Tua knocking Friday out because as much as everyone is getting caught up in the hyperbole surrounding the fight, Friday hasn't been legitimately stopped or knocked out in his life.. The Whittacker fight if anyone saw it ended with Friday in front and getting a thumb in the eye which was a freak incident ... Friday had to take a knee to clear his vision and allow the medics to look at him.. Replays even showed the thumb in the eye that lead to the stoppage.. I havent seen Ahunanya on the floor ever , i have seen him knock Tyson over in a sparring session just before the Etienne fight, and i have seen him bust Lennox's left eye shut in 1999 in California. Friday may or may not win but he isn't and wont get into a slanging match or start claiming a KO over Tua who i think is bluffing Friday hoping to get a reaction...... IMO... Tua may fail early to dent Fridays resolve and struggle with Fridays Jab as of late and may fall prey to a late struggle falling behind on points as his one trick pony left hook fails to make its mark.. I choose Friday to edge a good Tua out in a close call, but a monumentous win for him, which is long overdue.. I am of course biased as his long time advisor and friend, but i assure you Friday sees this as a last jump for glory and he wont lie down without a fight.. God bless , Hope the fight is a great one, both Guys are great for the game....
Bigcats analysis tells me something. While a fight like this might be good for Tua (if he wins), to build up rounds against a good opponent, and get him back into some sort of form, its a disaster if he loses. Far better to take on big, well known(ish) chinny guys, and look awesome, than an under rated tough guy with nothing to lose. Yep, if Tua can't beat Friday, he should quit. BUT...... that's not the way boxing works any more, is it?
Tua is NOT playing Mind Games....He has said he needs to make a noise so that he does not go unnoticed........he will cause a ruckus over the next 12 months in the boxing world.Ive seen a change in him.To him its a life and death fight against Friday......you have no idea how badly Tua wants to live if you bet against him. My belief is that Friday has been a good B class fighter. Friday took one of those 2 undefeated tags that BigCat mentioned from Shane Cameron in a fight he could of lost had he not stopped Cameron late in the 12th...... Tua has power Friday has never felt, and my moneys on a right hand to do the damage to begin with, and a hook to end the argument. My point is that if Shane Cameron could be hitting you so easily that he was winning on the cards...... TUA wins KO round 3:hey
Would it be that big of an upset, though? Friday's not a world beater, but when was the last time Tua beat somebody on that level? I wouldn't be shocked with any result (other than Tua losing by KO) but there are too many questions about both guys for me to make a pick with 100% certainty.
