Canelo should win a decision but will probably play back top much to force a stoppage.

the only thing i like about this fight is Kova is a huge upgrade from golovkin piercing jab (fast) not as stationary as ggg good right hand,

If canelo gets past kovas Jab there is a right hand full of power waiting for him

Kova is a cold blooded killer and actually goes for the kill when fighters are on the run and against the ropes. Look what he did to pascal stopped him twice the only fighter to do it. he is a huge upgrade from golovkin if there is one figthter that can lay waste to ginger , its kovalev

However , if canelo manages to stop kovalev which i dont think he will. I will give him credit

You're insane. Kovalev has quick hands still and Canelo has no power above 154.

To use a NASCAR reference, it will be a fuel mileage race and ironically Red will win it by stretching his tank the furthest

You must new to boxing? Whenever it's a close fight the money fighter will all get the decision, just look at ggg vs derverchenko, Pacquiao vs Marquez all 3 fights and the list goes on.....

i like canelo in this one. he is at his absolute peak, you will never see a better canelo than the one you are going to see vs kova. conversely, kova has started the big decline. i think the first 6 rds will see kova winning 4 or 3 of them, before canelos feints and half steps start putting him in positions to connect some flashy punches. once canelo gets a good read on kovas tendencies, his versatility will find the right counter moves to get in favorable positions. theres only about 10" in difference between favorable distance for kova and favorable for canelo, and i think canelos speed, which will be significantly better, will eat up those 10".
also, canelos upper body movement has a way of getting fighters to overcommit, because he slips lots of punches by bending straight back, which fighters think they can beat by adjusting the distance, but canelos middle bends like its rubber and he also adjusts and punishes you for overcommiting. thats how he gets so many uppercuts to land.

Watch the last 6 rounds of Canelo vs. Jacobs, an even more labored version of that version shows up, since he's going to be carrying around even more bulk. Even this version gets brutally sparked out by the Krusher. Can you imagine what's going to happen to an even fatter version that's huffing and puffing by round 4?

It is still completely crazy that this fight happens. When you go this far from your natural weight at least be sure not to mess with a legit champion from a very competitive division who also has the perfect style to neutralize your speed. The jab of Kovalev is the current best in boxing. in comparison, Jacobs has poor footwork and his jab is not efficient at all. He just extends his jab to create opening and try to place a big shot. Also Kovalev is a very precise fighter. Much much better than Jacobs.

    Canelo is loco.

I don't think Ginger nuts will get past that excellent jab. Ginger obviously has less height and reach and isn't quick footed.

Ginger has a great chin but I can see him being jabbed to submission and late stoppage.
