ya'll are crazy....Mosley was alllllll over Cotto, Cotto was just too much, too fast and strong on the inside for Mosley to out bang him, and too quick off the back foot for Mosley to outbox him, not to mention Mosley had no defence for Cotto's straight right or his left jab but somewhat similar circumstances can be said for Cotto as well, Mosley was too tough for Cotto to walk him down like he does with most of his opponents, and he was too clever to allow Cotto to dominate, if he was getting beat most the round he'd rally towards the end to make it look closer then it really was, not to mention Mosley's body work made Miguel switch to plan B himself but all in all, they both fight they're perfect fight against each other i'd say, but Miguel was just too much, too fresh, too fast, too strong and too versatile, he edged Shane in all those categories, i really recommend you watch that fight again, because Mosley threw everything he had at Cotto and even worked the body well throughout the fight and he still didn't do enough to win, you could of only scored the fight for Mosley if you wanted to score the fight for Mosley
I didnt score the fight for Mosely, i said Cotto won. I dont think Mosely fought up to his best that night, so he can turn the tables in a rematch IF he can fix what went wrong. We'll just agree to disagree.:good
It's surprising to me more people don't seem to be aware of Mosley's likely intention if we see this rematch. He's going to go after Cotto. Early. I don't really see Cotto winning this fight.
Shane still had the scar tissue in his nose for this fight, so no wonder he looked exhausted by the middle of the fight, but still pressed on and made cotto run, now imagine what he will do with a full tank of gas like he had for margarito and nazim on his side. Shane by late knock out.
Mosley came in with a poor gameplan and didn't adjust well in the middle rounds when Cotto started fighting off his back foot. He rallied late but it wasn't enough. That was always Mosley's biggest shortcoming under Jack Mosley, a lot of times his gameplan would not be that smart and he wouldn't adjust until it was too late. That won't be an issue with Richardson training him. Cotto was not "too much" for Mosley, Cotto just did a better job of ad j usting (why the **** is that word blocked? ) and fought a smarter fight. The beatdown Cotto took against Margarito is the type that ruins guys both physically and perhaps more importantly mentally. It wasn't quite on the level of Tito-Vargas but it was in that realm. If you think that Cotto's going to be the same after a **** kicking like that then you are deluding yourself And Cotto has always faded late in fights against relentless fighters, even ones that aren't very good like Lovemore N'Dou. That's not something new. If him and Mosley fight again then Mosley is going to press the issue from the first bell and Cotto will be gassed in the championship rounds. It's also laughable to say that Mosley's not strong enough to bang with Cotto when he just manhandled Margarito who is much stronger than Cotto is
Matters how Cotto does vs. Jennings and how he regroups. He took a beating vs. Margarito, although the beating he took against Margarito isn't close to the beating Margarito took against Shane. I am going with Cotto to win again if he recovers from the Margarito fight well.
If Mosley comes into fight around 160 I can see Mosley winning UD. He looked weaker of the two in the first fight.
its funny how people say shane might tko cotto it took 11 rounds for margo todo it with loaded gloves to beat him in that kind of way. if moseley does win is by decision not tko cottos recuperates quite fast he survived ricardo torres with holding and using his experience against torres. shane when he was hurt against forrest dint know how to handle it even though forrest has one punch ko power i c cotto if cotto comes back fine wich i think he will well win anotha decision.
In the first fight Mosley landed some great shots specially those straight hands and Cotto handled them pretty good. I don't see Mosley winning the remacth.
